Thanks for doing this video — you did what Philips apparently couldn’t… you explained how this works and it’s limitations.

Hi Eric. Is this still a good option to use with the Apple Home Kit? I am looking for light switches I can use instead of having to use only smart bulbs. Thanks for any information. Richard

Could you set a dimmer button in home kit to raise the lights by a percentage so it doesn’t need to go to a specific spot?

Instead of “lights at 30%, 50%, 70%”
It could be “raise lights by 20%” with each click

Hi , do you know when programming dimmer is there limit for the presets ? and if you program color scenes will they replace existing white light scenes? I don't have lan connection only wifi so I can't use bridge all the time and I don't know is it worth buying just to program colored presets , I just want to configure dimmer but I don't know is there preset limit , also if the bridge must be always connected there is for no sense of buying it , thanks

You screwed the switch on to your wall while you’re renting? Lol

In the place I live I think there shall be no screws because screwdrivers can be so rare in my house

Installing the switch is easy, only takes a few screws. You can tell he lives in a house made out of wood :) not reinforced solid concrete like here in Europe. Just putting a few screws in that, oh my, that takes some effort :)

Just bought this crap thinking it was a switch when in reality it’s a wall mounted remote.

Hey Eric, do you have any experience using the Dimmer Switch through HomeKit to control LIFX bulbs? I am looking to deck out my Apartment, and would prefer LIFX for the brightness, but would love to use the Dimmer Switch as a physical toggle when we can’t use Assistants. Thanks!

Do you know if i can use 2 light switches with 1 light bulb? I want the light bulb on the stairs and to have 1 switch at the bottom of the stairs and one at the top. Thanks

Question, looking for a physical switch to turn on my garden hue Lilly lights on and off for those times I don’t have my phone handy, eg. Letting the dog out in the middle of the night, if I was to use the tap switch to turn the lights on and off, would this interrupt or override the routines I have set on my phone eg. Wake up the lights and dawn / wake up at night etc? Thanks 🙏

Nice job exploiting social trends! Ironic that espresso itself is very much not transparent.

That gap would be so easy to fix with some caulking.

I think Milliput would solve the problems of not being able to distinguish the switches in the dark, as well as the gap around the panel when fitted to the wall.

So in conclusion, which espresso machine do you recommend then?

Quick question, with the Philips you system you have to leave the lightswitch on all the time, right? Why not take the original lightswitch down and replace it with the Hue switch, would look much nicer.

how is it quicker to find a device, then selecting the buttons, remembering which is for which light, than either saying 'Siri dim light' or opening the Home app and selecting your light??

You can get clear soft close rubber draw bumps. I placed one on the on button find it in the dark

Nice vid - may I suggest that you make your coffee grind size a bit finer, looks like it’s pouring a shot outside the optimum range

This may sound like a dumb question, but can I use this with regular bulbs or does it have to be Philips Hue specific?

I really dig the Hue accessory HomeKit integration across the board. I really wish Hue would produce a contact sensor, though.

Weird, the version I’ve got has a 1 and a 0 instead of on and off on the top and bottom button.
But I’m in Europe...
I’ve got 4 of these by know..... I love them.

Hi Eric - great vid! Right at the end you mention that there are other switches that you can use to mount into the wall and replace the physical wall switch to give a more permanent solution. Do you have any recommended switches like this please?
