"The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has concluded that the world’s most used pesticide, glyphosate, does not have endocrine disrupting properties.

The food safety body’s assessment, published on 7 September, found there is no evidence that glyphosate is having a harmful effect on human hormone systems.

EFSA was requested by the European Commission in 2016 to consider information on potential endocrine activity of the pesticide.

The report said: “The current assessment concluded that the weight of evidence indicates that glyphosate does not have endocrine disrupting properties through oestrogen, androgen, thyroid or steroidogenesis mode of action based on a comprehensive database available in the toxicology area.”

The result is also in line with the US Environment Protection Agency, who reached the same conclusion in June 2015."

EWG has the dubious honor of being one of the three most rabidly dishonest and fraudulent activist groups in the US; indeed, in the world. The other two are USRTK and the Natural News criminal Mike Adams. "Although GMOs are regarded as safe as their conventional counterparts by every major food safety authority in the world, the organic industry spends nearly $3 billion a year through over 330 different organizations leading with fear and “information spin” as an industry to sell their products. By creating an unfounded fear that requires tighter regulations on GMO crops, they are hoping to force them out of the food supply, thereby creating a bigger market share to sell more products in their more than $65 billion wheelhouse.
The unfortunate consequence of these [non-GMO] labels is that the food companies and lobbyists tend to create an unnecessary “us vs. them” divide. When food companies use fear against competitors to sell a product, farmers take it personally."

Talk about putting the fox in charge of the hen house… In every FDA decision involving genetically modified foods, those making the decision were either former or future employees of the genetic-engineering companies or pharmaceutical companies. To determine the safety of these foods, the FDA typically just takes the word of the company. In 2009 President Obama selected Michael Taylor, former chief lobbyist for Monsanto, as the new “food safety czar” at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Taylor has a long history of lobbying for – and being employed by – Big-Agra companies with a vested interest in GMOs. Not only was Taylor a vice president at Monsanto, he was one of the FDA officials who signed off on an FDA policy stating that GMOs don’t need safety testing. Tom Vilsack is a long-time supporter of genetically modified foods. In fact, Vilsack pushed his GMO agenda at the Food Security Conference in Iowa.
When giant agricultural corporations wanted to flood the market with genetically modified seeds, there was a problem. What about safety? What were the effects of eating an ear of corn laced with pesticide? What would happen if someone ate soybeans designed to survive the potent herbicide Round-up?
Not a problem, announced the federal government. As long as these “Frankenfoods” are “substantially equivalent” to the real thing, the GMO products would be deemed safe – and made available for sale.
So, if a GMO food – or other plant – is “substantially equivalent” in composition and nutritional characteristics, it doesn’t have to be tested for safety. And who benefits? You guessed it: Monsanto and other genetic-engineering companies or pharmaceutical companies .
Scientists Forbidden from Testing GMO Crops
So where is all the research on genetically modified crops? It simply doesn’t exist. But here’s why GMOs haven’t been studied thoroughly…
The manufacturers won’t allow it. That’s right. Monsanto – and the handful of other big producers of genetically modified crops – don’t allow scientific testing.
If you want to get your hands on GMO seeds, you have to sign an “end-user agreement,” just as if you were buying software. And these end-user agreements ban testing and comparisons to other products. The only testing that happens is testing that the manufacturers approve.
As Scientific American points out, the only tests approved are those that the manufacturers decide are “friendly.”

So, are genetically modified foods safe for you to eat? Sorry… That’s on a need-to-know basis. And the manufacturers have decided that you don’t need to know.
Your information that it is safe in Europe is inaccurate. WHO declared it safe but many disagree - check the Internet and you find sites like one from 2017 that says Here’s Why More Than 35 Countries Have Banned Genetically Modified Crops From Their Country.

Amazing video! I have been teaching my infant development students about this for years and it's such a huge issue that it is hard to wrap it all up into a clear message that is not too depressing (students are already so stressed and anxious!). I love your calm voice and clear manner of presenting this. Thank you for all your work at EWG!

Love the education you provide, but a lot of the tips and tricks you offer aren't necessarily easily avoidable for the most vulnerable populations exposed. Avoid plastic wrap and canned goods? These are cheaper alternatives with longer shelf lives. Is frozen better? If so, I hope the costs is comparable. But, opting for stainless steel or cast iron cookware may not be such an easy fix for so many people out there who can't necessarily afford the luxury of uses fancy, safer cookware. Why is it that healthier alternatives are more expensive?! It boggles my mind.

its nearly impossible today to avoid everything mentioned, how does one buy clothing you describe, no really where would you get it? its really hard to cook with cast iron, (cleaning maintenance etc) and so many foods are canned - what if youre a prepper for example? it settles into our dust??? I mean seriously even if you avoid cans BPS plastics, nonstick coating, clothing (LOL) you still get it in the dust? Why dont we hold manufacturers accountable instead? BEcause these suggestions are pretty much close to impossible
