Canada has always fielded some excellent shots in every conflict. Accurate fire turned back the US army in southern Quebec in the war of 1812. The US had a numerical advantage as well.

How about saying they're "NAMED" such and such, and not "called". That's weird phrasing. Are you saying they're pseudonyms?

A lot of Ukrainian claims are dodgy. They claim one pilot shot down half the Russian air force. They make up a lot of claims to boost morale.

All of these gentlemen are great snipers, my favorite, Carlos Hathcock, America's most feared sniper in history, not only that, but he was a southern man, and being from Alabama, so am I, he was a really cool guy, R.I.P. Carlos, you are missed, THX for posting. subbed.👊 😎🇺🇸

It amazes me that snipers don’t seem to be used to take out political targets from foreign political leaders to discourage them from espousing war with us. I would think it difficult to set up a perimeter 2 miles out from a rally or campaign speech

The main reason why they didn't name the Sniper for the longest shot (at the time) is because they didn't know which one of the two snipers who shot at the insurgent killed him, as both rounds were fired simultaneously and landed within a few inches of one another. They released footage of the longest confirmed Sniper kill 4 months ago.

They gentleman's name is Dallas Alexander. With 2 minutes of research you'd figure that out.

Sgt. Hathcock had a bounty on his head by the Viet Cong. He taunted them by having a White Feather in his booney cover. Hathcock basically wrote the book on U.S. Marine Corps Sniper School training.

Since the 60's, snipers have been in action since the Revolutionary War, during the Civil War snipers were picking off people at nearly half a mile with special long guns, during WWI Marine sharp shooters were picking off Germans at 800 yards or more and snipers were a common thing during the war, you pop your head up to look out the trench and goodnight.

I wonder what the great men of history would make of modern weapons and optics, from the English civil war snipers of Parliamentarian and Royalist sides, to Sure Shot Tim Murphy to The Ashanti Hunters of the 19th century to 'Peggy' Pegambo in WW1?

The White Feather was so innovative, using the Ma Deuce before anyone thought of using such a beast as a snipers weapon, how must he have either returned to civilian life or dealt with his MS diagnosis in later life?
