MY Google Ads Bidding Strategy for New Campaigns

Thank so much for your content, they are powerful golden nuggets. I have one problem... I tried to apply one smart bidding strategy to my shopping campaign but doesn't works. It seems that the update failed and I have tried several times....

Are there any particular condition or similar thing that could block and failed my shopping campaign to change into smart bidding?

I usually start my camapigns with maximize conversions without setting a target cost. But i have faced issues with campaigns not running in. spite of increasing the daily budget. Then i change the bid strategy to maximize clicks to give a kickstart. This is for regular search campaign.

Great video, thanks. I’m finding that pmax is just hammering repeat customers and branded terms and so the target roas metric is a bit misleading. For example if a client says they want 400% roas, from new customers, it’s difficult to achieve this with pmax due to the black box nature of how it works. For e-commerce I’ve started to use manual shopping a lot more which is something I never thought I’d have to do!

I really appreciate this helpful video. I mostly use Facebook Ads, so Google Ads still seem a little complicated to me. I'm hoping that with your videos I'll be able to understand it better.

I recently launched a Google Ads campaign using the 'Maximize Clicks' strategy. It's been about three weeks, and I've seen some initial success with 5 conversions, but this only lasted a few days.

Given that my account is relatively new and lacks extensive historical data, would you advise switching to a 'Target CPA' or "Maximize Conversions" strategy at this stage? I'm keen to optimize the campaign's performance and would greatly value your expert opinion on this matter.

Great video. Question - If an account focused on lead gen has 0 conversion data from any sources, would Max Clicks make the most sense to start?

You can control CPCs out of the gate, and the thought process is once some volume comes through, you switch over to Max Conversions, then eventually tCPA and let it ride.
