VLC 2.1.4 (Rincewind) x64 BUG on Vista Ultimate x64

VLC (x64) is very buggy when started from an associated file - like stupid-movie.avi, or stupider-movie-plus-tax.mkv, or even stupidest-movie-plus-shipping-and-handeling.divx

If VLC is opened directly by double-clicking vlc.exe, or a shortcut to it, it runs fine, just as expected, & shows how sweet the program is... next to none in comparison.

However, any associated file that opens VLC when clicked will play buggy if opened. ...but, if VLC is already opened via shortcut, or directly double-clicking vlc.exe, all associated files that are opened afterwards will play fine (in single instance mode).

If VLC is started via double-clicked associated file (buggy), then all other associated file openings will also be buggy.

This is a simple video example of the issue.
