How do you fix a 169 IP address so you can get online?

Had this problem and in the end it was a bad ethernet cable.

None worked cuz after tiping ipconfig /renew it cant do that cuz no Connection to the dhcp server

error 5 access denied?

I did what you said and it worked but shortly the 169.254 address automatically returns each time. Any help is greatly appreciated

What if it says access denied when trying to restart the DHCP client? Ive given it permissions in Registry editor.

What about using ipconfig /flushdns, ipconfig /release, and ipconfig /renew

К сожалению, очень часто все перечисленные здесь решения не приводят к положительному результату. Они попросту бесполезны. Абсолютно бесполезно править реестр, выполнять сетевые команды, менять оборудование, кабели, переустанавливпть драйверы. Пустая трата времени. Следует просто переустановить систему.

Everytime i try to stop the DHCP Client it says: "Windows could not stop the DHCP Client service on Local Computer".

Error 1051: A stop control has been sent to a service that other running services are dependent on.

On typing netsh winsock reset the computer is asking for elevation (run as administrator)...

my laptop has 169.254.xxx.xx ip
if i use Lan i have internet, if i use vlan, its connected with my router but no internet
i used a lot of methods like (reset ip and winsock, klick on QoS,...)but they are not working. so u think it might be a problem of hardware?

And restart laptop..
