Hmmm feeding hotdogs to horses not such a good idea,l always think it is good that most horses don't eat meat or humans could be on the menú lol.Was the hotdog between a bread wrap? Horses love bread but it is not good for them and l doubt a hotdog a day either.

Just wanted to say becareful of what you say 'cause there are some dumb f... out there that probably would try giving hotdogs to horses.

Thankyou for this podcast , was very interesting.

Following Ellen's rules for life, you can get out of touch with reality. With very bad consequences.
For instance people with cancer who swear their herbal treatment are curing them, when in reality they are dying unnecessary because the cancer is treatable with evidence based treatment. This happens often.
Another example: when someone develops diabetes, taking insulin can be proposed, but at some point in lots of cases not taking insulin will harm your body substantially.

I’d strongly suggest Dr. Peterson and Dr. Langer to study Dr. Hamer’s 5 Biological Laws, that explain exactly what they are trying to explain, and they still haven’t completely understood.

Steve Job 😆This is the intersection between science and what people consider spirituality - The attempt to identify and abstract phenomena that isn't quite understood in the scientific community and quantify it. I recently brought up the question of 1 + 1, purely coincidentally. I was getting at exactly what Dr. Langer was describing. However, many of my academically-minded peers would immediately delve into mathematics, assuming the abstraction of numbers to be a reliable metric for assessing the world around us in every scenario. We are taught in absolutes and people jump at the opportunity to demonstrate just how much stuff they've been able to memorize without questioning it. We can't always stand behind our manmade logic, as many events we experience contradict our logical mind and, As Dr. Langer was getting at - it can be very beneficially to strategically adopt beliefs and values that don't entirely make sense yet - Just because their outcomes haven't materialized yet doesn't diminish the possibility of them occurring, and, should we behave in a way that could bring about a desired result, it's that much more likely to occur. As a guitarist, the creative process has shed a lot of light on this for me. Every instructional video I've ever watched tells you how to hold the pick and how to pick the strings, as if it's a fact. Without fail, the hottest things on the internet deviate pretty much entirely from the advice given in these beginner videos. I started just watching videos of my favorite guitarists in the studio and taking notes on not their words, but just observing exactly how they play - Way differently and much more efficiently for the music they were performing than the "facts" I was given in videos where the player assumed they were in a teaching role and, as a result, just had rehearsed lines about what a musician employed in that capacity would say. Every time I compose something I am unable to play, I spend a few days playing it slow and eventually produce the desired result as if it were second nature. This, to me, is a microcosm of "manifestation," or adopting the belief that if I sit with something long enough, I am more than competent at achieving my goal even if it is currently impossible for my body to produce that result. I can't tell you how many powerful lessons are repeatedly taught to me through engaging with the creative process. This is my favorite episode I've seen and I am definitely checking out more of Dr. Langer's work. Thank you!

I really enjoyed this video, thank you both. This brought something back to me about when my children were little. One of the kids in their preschool was autistic and my children would get very annoyed by him. He didn't have any friends, but was a very nice little boy who was very good at taking things apart and putting them back together. He was also very kind, and I never saw him respond badly when he was being teased. I told my kids that God gives us all gifts. If a person struggles in one area, then they will be gifted in another area and vice versa. A large struggle in one area means that they likely have an equally large gift in another. I suggested the they look for what the person was gifted in rather than focusing on the handicap.

You cannot go on 'seeing through' things forever. The whole point of seeing through something is to see something through it. - C.S. Lewis. A project of assembling a worldview that coheres and is good is a better project than constantly devaluing what you know in favor of an ethic of ignorance and constant change of perspective. There is a hierarchy of perspectives on reality. Some ways of seeing are just better than others.

I’ve read, or read about, her famous research studies, but am ignorant of whether- unlike the majority of psych “science”- hers have been replicated.

Im either case, it’s such a treat to hear great minds converse amidst the white noise of full-spectrum fake news, pseudo-journalism, opulently funded “sponsored science” dribble, which contaminates the legitimate scientific investigation (determined methodologically, not by strength of emotional conviction or size of one’s social media bot army)

What are 3-5 reasons this fear/stress/worry won't happen, and if it does what are 3-5 ways it can be beneficial, or work out anyway. Measure up instead of measure down. It is how we interpret what happens, and we don't know the benefit after a negative/undesirable event or an unexpectation

As usual it is always benifical to listen to Dr Peterson’s conversation. It has a wide range of topics of discussion. Now I am half way in this discussion and I can’t go on because all I can do is not stop thinking of her contribution to the reason our university students want to reinvent the wheel! I am sure she has no bad intentions. I disagree with the way she presents her theory on 1+1 . In a creative world it is awesome it brings your imagination to another level. It does not apply in the reality .No wonder we can’t define a women anymore. I think that , at that stage in the students life they might be lacking maturity and emotional intelligence to know when it is good to be applied. They just want to break everything old because why not. I will listen to the end now because it is interesting. ✌️

I see no contradiction, as the subject's point of view defines how they will perceive the experience (positive or negative with all its interpretative richness), mindfulness would not be a better point of view in itself, but a richer position to experience, and it is this presence in the face of inherent uncertainty that opens up the possibility of seeing other perspectives of the world and oneself.

Yea, she's really right about that "mindlessness" about most people. Evidence is when everyone began listening to David Icke when he told us the agenda of the enemies of Humanity, that they create a problem, then offer you a solution which they expect you to take which gives them the ability to steal more of your freedoms away. And you would have thought the people would by now have recognized it, but nooooo....when the covid garbage was thrown on them they all like sheep to the slaughter ran into hiding and then ran to the slaughter house to get themselves all jabbed up. And if someone doesn't wake them up soon, they might just do it again until they're dead...after all, we also know how the really ignorant ones even worship their enslavers, thinking that they'll be fine if they just act stupid like that, without ever thinking that their life is at risk and that their life is more important than agreeing with a murderer, and that they need to stand up for their rights instead...and that one of them alone isn't good enough, but that all them together working together, can accomplish it. But, teach them that, huh?

I saw this video and read Dr. Langer's book, "The Mindful Body", so I'm back to comment. I think her book was terrible and filled with BS. I wish she would have given more information on the methodology of her studies but my impression is that her studies were all BS and she only got by because she is a woman. I hate to say something that sounds sexist, but none of her studies (at least from her book) sound rigorous. Everything is plagued with confounding variables. It's a common theme in psychology to make up explanations and all she does is make up explanations. I think she does a disservice to science.

I regret the money I spent on the book.
