These look like "vanity projects", intended to artificially boost their GDP. China has been doing this for quite a while, their "tofu dreg" projects. The tofu dreg projects haven't helped China.

Cities are organically grown taking decades to hundreds of years, based upon natural socio-economic factors... Anything else especially forced ipon by governments, they inevitably will be rejected ny the populs.👎🏼

It's funny how Indonesia is moving due to extreme weather and sinking yet they didn't think it's maybe from deforestation? Take away absorbing land you will get flooding when the monsoons come. It's simple. The more countries take away rain forest the more extreme weather and climate change will happen. I just don't understand how these engineers don't understand how this works. They need to first educate themselves to why climate change is happening...maybe then they can make better decisions when it comes to where to put their new cities.

most old cities were built because of reasourses. Water being a pretty basic need hence why esturaies are a common place to settle. All these super cities are far away from fresh water and will heavily rely on car/planes to bring in water so gods help them when civilisation collapses.

Like have that master planned initial phase or two of essential functions & the new monuments, but then have the future all mapped out like New York City did in the first half of the 19th century where inbetween the skyscrapers is still mid-rise albeit DENSE development every direction… but with far more green space.

The Dubai approach to said capital relocation projects just past the surface just seems extraordinarily half-assed compared to plentiful western cities in recent centuries and the infancy of the Industrial Revolution…
