If this doesn't work for you, try changing the drive in the bios from RAID to AHCI

Everyone always glosses over the most important parts of tutorial videos. You said download the RST installer and "You also get 2 drivers" If the computer doesn't boot, how do you get these drivers? Especially if the other PC you would use doesn't have that SSD. RST exe wont install on a 2nd PC that doesn't have that drive installed.

I was trying all sorts of vmd drivers from intel website from asus website also the non-asus version, non of them seemed to be working, I tried turning off the VMD controller thing and it worked! I don't really need to hot swap my laptop ssd either lol so I guess it's ok.

Dude you saved my job. Literally. Had a client want 2 laptops imaged from old drive. Laptop came with intel 670p SSD. WHICH INTEL DOSEN'T OWN ANYMORE?? Anyway, I turned off vmd and BOOM, laptop actually booted imaged HD. 5 stars. You the man.
