I love that golf has become so popular in Korea and how the Korean golfers have adapted to make the sport accessible for everyone. As our populations grow worldwide it is this type of ingenuity that help the game grow. The more the better in my opinion.
ОтветитьHave you heard of GolfZon Leadbetter? check it out...
ОтветитьI don't want to golf industry to grow. Covid ruined golf. No, I have no teetimes. 😂
ОтветитьFirst time coming across this channel , really awesome video mate ! Have a Merry Christmas and happy New Year from New Zealand 🇳🇿
Ответить"...traveled to a country that has more golfers per capita than any other country in the world"
lol. This sounds so funny because I'm Korean but live in Canada (seeing a rapid increasing number of screen golf business here in Toronto, Ontario)
and I know what's going on in Korea lately.
So as i am a Korean, here is the real reason why screen golf is booming nowadays.
When covid hit korea, there were limited outdoor activities and ppl could not travel comfortably due to mandatory 2wks-isolation.
The young gen wants to share part of their real/fake life and playing golf has became trendy and a symbol of wealthy ppl.
As they are susceptible to newness and peer pressure, they started to throw themselves to expensive korean golf culture to pretend like they were enjoying their life.
However, the number of new joiners has stopped it bcuz of an exorbitant price of golf club ; pay for game, tips, buggy rent, snacks/meals at clubhouse, tee up time fee cost around 300usd per person (it may different depending on the club) and needless to say, purchasing golf gears and expansive golf brand clothes whenever they go golf(this is why there is golf dress rental service for gen Z).
This makes them shift to indoor golf facilities where has more reasonable price, good accessible location and time, and cool/warm temp. 24/7.
If you want to buy 2nd handed golf clubs, search any items in korean web sites. You could easily get even new models in good price with mint condition. Lol
I get the attraction and convenience factors but being in nature is the healing part.
I understand golf on a course is not available to many especially in the East but for me it's the adventure, the ritual and nature.
Thanks for an interesting episode.
Love the insight but being outside is my main attraction to the game.
ОтветитьRick Sheils brought me here
ОтветитьSo cool!
ОтветитьAmazing! Thanks for making this
ОтветитьAwesome episode!
ОтветитьIts so sickening to see all these masked zombies…
ОтветитьThis is pretty amazing. It would be interesting to take around a 10-15 handicap, who has NEVER played outside, on a real course to see how they do.
Also, a 20 hole playoff is ridiculous.
I'm in the US Army in Korea - my commander and I hit up screen golf almost once a week after work. It's amazing.
ОтветитьJust started watching, hopefully they mention that 1 of the biggest reasons for lack of rounds on the course is due to costs. Insane $$$$!!!
ОтветитьThis guy is a queef
ОтветитьI lived in Shanghai and they had a couple of GolfZon’s in the Koreatown part of the city. Absolutely was my go to when I needed my golf fix as it was honestly about 5-10 times more affordable and convenient than playing on a course
Ответитьi bet majority didnt know that korean firms own Titleist, Taylormade, and other golf brands.
ОтветитьContinues to be the best golf content on U Tube. Great stuff EAL
ОтветитьConvenient and you don't lose your ProV1s as much. Win win :) Cheers!
ОтветитьThe two goods things about virtual golf are that you never lose and ball and you get so much data.
ОтветитьFive Iron Golf in NY is obscenely expensive. I’m so jealous!
ОтветитьThis series continues to remind me why I love golf. Thank you Erik and the rest of the team!
ОтветитьThe multi turf hitting mat was unbelievable. Beyond cool technology in those places.
Ответитьwhere is this content now????
ОтветитьWould love to play golf in Korea and Japan. Love that Golf can bring cultures together it’s truly amazing. Makes the heart feel good.
ОтветитьWhat is the address for Playground Golf in Korea.
ОтветитьWow those places are insane
Ответить“At 10pm in Korea.” I think everything is better at 10pm In Korea.. lol
ОтветитьAnd this is why top golf is so successful in the states they basically took the same model but added in a night out on the town, aspect to it to attract even more people by making it a dinner spot and a place to get drinks and play games not just have serious competition and that attracts everyone. Because you know you can go there and have no equipment know nothing about golf and still walk away with a great experience and I think this is very very similar but more on the serious side of it but I think both work for the same reasons
ОтветитьThis is breathtaking, especially the Back-yard. I wonder how they charge to play with the simulator and other bunkers, chipping and green areas.
Ответитьis anyone else thinking of starting a business after watching this?
ОтветитьYeah, I'm moving there.
ОтветитьCan anyone help me find back-yard? I am going to Seoul in a few days and would love to check it out.
ОтветитьThe level of production is sooooo tight. Great job.Informative and entertaining and I don't even play golf. I might do now.
ОтветитьI saw this video just before going to Korea for a friend's wedding last week and searched out Backyard and went. It was so much fun! We need screen golf in the US to make golfing more easily accessible to us city folks! ❤
ОтветитьBro EAL - Need to know them pants youre wearing. All of them. Nice cut to it.
Ответитьyour seriessss is very inspiring...best of the best of golf chanels
Ответитьwhy the ear ring dude
ОтветитьThis is great! Heading to Seoul in a few weeks. Thanks 🙏🏽
ОтветитьThe Anthony Bourdain of golf. Keep going, mate!
Ответитьthats very dope. they said ‘if your coming to shoot we’re shooting you’
Ответитьmy only gripe with simulator golf is that it seems to take so damn long. Players stepping up, grabbing clubs, simulator loading etc takes so long.
ОтветитьI started learning golf in Korea about a month ago and I’ve played 2 screen golf games already😂
I’m hoping to play on an actual field for the first time in a few months.
It’s not very accessible, but if I get good enough, golf will be a great reason to travel to nearby countries for a few games!
I just arrived in Seoul , would you tell me the address of this location ?
Thank you so much
I would love to bring this to southern Ontario. I love golfing and my girlfriend and mum are keen to play but the difficulty and length of outdoor courses make it challenging
ОтветитьAs cool as that looks, screen golf in South Korea doesn't seem to be very accommodating to left-handed hitters such as myself.
Ответить
