I'm so sorry that happened to you. I have an older brother so with that being said you probably know what happened to me just by saying I have an older brother, but it was also an old man that owned a candy store, I was only 6 years old lasting until I was 12. So I'm so sorry.

TLC was shady totally….when they had to cancel the original show because of the oldest brothers abuse of his sisters…all TLC did was change the name of the show, but to the public made it look like it was the girls show….and kept the parents off the show long enough for people to start watching the new show…then slowly brought the parents back and the show was theirs again….and the parents were the ones getting paid..not the girls…what really bad examples of parents…control freaks that taught their kids to obey, but not to mature and go on and have their own lives , like we, as parents are supposed to.

You sure looked awfully happy Jill so I don’t know what your complaining about. You should be ashamed of yourself. Maybe abusive parents or no parents like many other people have would have made you much happier? Ungrateful, unthankful, and unholy just like the Bible describes.

I dont understand why the father doesn't recognize his daughters pain and suffering. As a survivor, its like his daughter isnt important enough for him to care.

The amount of times this family, these children had to swallow hard and keep a smile on their faces must have been in the millions. I’m just so happy some of them are choosing their own way of life. Bless them all!

Every abuser wants communication to be "private" and not "made public" so the abuser can control the narrative. Don't fall for it. They're only "honoring" their need to control the narrative. Love this couple. I'm so proud of them for stepping up and doing the right thing. Setting the record straight. I'm a Christian and what Jim Bob has been doing to his children sheds a bad light on Christianity. He was willing to go on social media before but not now. He, of all ppl should step out and apologize and ask forgiveness of his viewers. That's what a true humble man of God would do.

It states in the Bible that you are not supposed to treat adult offspring as children, it is forbidden.

I'm wondering if the poison in that family isn't Josh as much as it's JimBob and the tone he set for appearances being more important than substance. JimBob's the one who doesn't live out Godly values and is totally self-serving. Josh got so sidetracked, mishandled, and missed out on healing early on. Josh is ruined and he's serving time for JimBob's failures along with his own. When will there be some healthy divorces? Michelle and Anna are in crazymaking marriages.

Jill has become my favourite Duggar. She has come through abuse: sexual, emotional, spiritual. Under the watch of her parents. Under the umbrella of a cult. No apologies made to her by her parents. This warped system of IBLP has damaged many young minds, as do all cults. Jim Bob and Michelle must be too far in to see their way out.

Well, that’s why these ‘fundamentalist’ little misogynistic house on the prairie types actually fundamentally differ from the faith altogether. Control freaks like daddy Duggar only care about maintaining an illusion to present a perfect picture to the world rather than having true faith in God and living for true Christian values. Apologies go a long way. So much healing can take place if the parents would just apologize for hurting her. Just a simple admission, “We are truly sorry for hurting you. Please forgive us.”

That may sound too simple, but that is a starting point, and it doesn’t even involve assuming blame. Apologies don’t have to involve “I was wrong, or this or that was wrong” just a simple admission that what I did hurt you, and I’m sorry for causing you pain.

Start there. Just start there.
