Went karting for the first time the other day and I was actually surprised how well I did. In comparison to those I went with whom had all been before I came in second and was in first a good chunk of the second race. I really loved it and had so much fun so here I am trying to learn more so I can beat my hyper competitive BIL lol.

Is anyone else here because they're actually really good at racing games, then got in a real kart with a bunch of noobs finishing in the middle of the pack and thought "WTF happened there? I was supposed to be good at this...???"

I have an indoor track next to where I live the max speed is 45mph I noticed this old guy always dominating I tailgated him for two races and I beat him the 3rd race guess Im just lighter than him

I went today with my dad...and i bought tickets at 50% for the next week...that is fire

I was racing my dad and suddenly theres a chicane and the kart just understeered and i couldnt press the brake and i had like a 9g crash (i was in an indoor karting center btw)

I swear to god ive got no fear, i went karting a while back gonna go again next week, I literally was not scared at all, i didnt care if i was gonna hit someone i tried to prevent it, but i blamed it on the front driver😂, cuz i was racing tryna get real close to the corners before turning.

Mostly Useless. If you know Nothing of Physics or how physics applies to driving a vehicle, you might learn something. If you have Seen a race or two, but never even played a video game, you might learn something.

The electric karts look way more dangerous the worst crashes i seen were E karts mayb bcos they have all the power always ready no waiting to rev up.

I thought any kind of skidding would decrease a persons lap time? Or is a slight bit of skidding around hairpins a good idea?

I was at my local track and it was just a practice session. This guy was in front of me refusing to let me past, weaving everywhere and cutting me up at every moment. The stewards didn't do a thing about it even after I had drawn their attention. After 2 laps the guy ran out of talent and spun into the tyres hitting them very hard. I didn't know whether to feel empathy at his impact or glad that he got his just desserts. Moral of the story and my number one tip for beginners: Don't be a dick on the track
