are you an INGENUE? { complete guide kitchener ingenue essence}

I’m pretty sure I’m either a soft natural or ingenue but I have a bigger nose so idk.

I'm a Kibbe Soft Dramatic. I was on the fence about having either gamine or ingenue essence, I know I got natural and classic, but with a more "baby-faced" quality. Looking things over, I think Ingenue works better than Gamine for me.

I have spent a lot of this year embracing my ingenue essence and it has revolutionised the way I dress. I don’t look like I’m trying too hard. I get compliments because it’s so much easier to dress in my vintage experimental style. I really appreciate videos like this because it adds more ideas for thought.

There are situations where it's good to be compliant. We can't all be in charge. It's about knowing who to be compliant to. Also, some people are overly compliant because they are overly trusting and innocent. Which isn't a bad quality if they comply with a good person or learn to protect themselves and look out for red flags in others.

Something that bothers me is that.. gamine is also heavily influenced & based around having youthfulness air, just on the boyish side vs the girlish of the ingenue . So I don't understand why one seems iffy but not the other. Granted, I just found your channel and you may have already touched on this so if you have I'll come back and edit this but idk something about the girlish element of ingenue being seen as bad but the boyish gamine is accepted feels unfair to me. Maybe because this is one of the biggest elements of my blend so I'm taking it more personal than I should and or misunderstanding

Compliance is actually a trait some people have and I’d rather be aware and admit my traits than be offended and lie to myself about it. I’m more offended that you imply this is something universally negative that someone should be ashamed of….

I’m not sure if I’m partly ingenue but my old manager told me that I remind her of Thumper and I get compared to Bambi or a puppy a lot, so… maybe?

In the kibbe system, I’m a theatrical romantic (body wise) but I think my face kind of ruins it as I’m undeniably ingenue in the face so the clashing is visually jarring. I style myself moreso as the theatrical romantic bc I don’t rly like the whimsicalness of ingenue. My contradictions are a lot like Marilyn Monroe in that way. It’s also funny bc before I even discovered Kibbe/Kitchener I’ve alw described myself as being the “sexy cute” type.

I think I have ingenue essence as I’ve always been told my face looks very young and child like. I also can look very off when trying to wear traditionally “sexy” outfits. However I find that in regards to clothing I feel most comfortable in and most people compliment me in clothes that lean “little boy” versus “little girl” looks. For example, t shirts, wide leg jeans, overalls, high top converse, etc. would this still align with ingenue or is this another essence or even kibble body type all together?

If you can do a further video on hairstyles that would be great! I’ve read on a blog that the only ones that can do slick buns is dramatic which I agree because I never look good in anything slick. As a ingenue I love my hair down and have something framing my face when my hair is up. Wondering what more hairstyles I can do! I used to do romantic hairstyles 24/7 but I feel like they do not look best on me no matter how hard I try 😭

Some boys in middle school said I reminded them of Boo from Monster's inc. I felt deeply insulted by this, and went home and told my mother, who was like, "oh, my poor baby, oh those terrible boys", until she realized that Boo was the little girl who sings in the bathroom stall, and not one of the monsters. And then she started laughing too. It was rough. Anyway, this is hitting close to home.

aha! I think I definitely have some high ingenue qualities. I typed as "soft classic" before but somehow it didn't quite click. I have big eyes and doll-like features but height-wise I'm only slightly below average. Somehow, this youthful quality has started to only show up later in life for me (so I guess I have some other essences mixed in that kinda counter-act it a bit. Has anyone else had this experience? I guess it's also due to the fact that adolescents and teenagers all kinda have ingenue qualities).
Now I'm 29 and like 2 years ago, people have started to ask for my ID when buying alcohol or going into clubs etc. So this is a new development for me! And I've been hearing the "oh you look so young for your age" A LOT recently. Maybe because I've started to embrace this vibe a bit more, i.e. I cut my hair into a cute pixie and I've lost weight so I'm actually kinda dainty now (normal weight). It is still weird for me though.

I really like it though. It feels like a suppressed part of my personality that I'm finally starting to integrate.
If you look into my wardrobe, there is a wild mix of very casual ("natural" type) pieces and very extravagant cute ("ingenue" or "gamine" type) pieces like an apricot romper or a nude super short dress full of glitter stones :) Personally, I would type myself as like 60% ingenue, 30% classic, 10% romantic or something like that.
I like ingenue cause it aligns well with my quiet, soft, playful character but I can see how it can be a struggle to look child-like when you're an adult and need to be taken seriously.

I always disregarded ingenue because I'm tall and have a largeness to me but the most common compliments I receive are "you're so cute/adorable!" So I'm starting to think this is definitely a part of my blend!

Look, I am even not offended because I know I LOOK compliant. I’m a magnet for bullies, manipulators and all sorts of people who want to use me. When they realize I am not “compliant”, they just shake their head like they’ve been hallucinating and KEEP treating me as compliant. That’s how compliant I look.

I’m a full-on ingenue when it comes to seduction and i, too, have felt weird about being kinda childish until i read about this essence in the book of seduction.

For “ingenues” you don’t have to make everything ingenue cause no matter what you wear your baby face will give you away plus in my experience as an ingenue, If I try wearing grown up full-face makeup (contour, smoky eye, etc) I’ll look like a travesti (no offense) or just a kid wearing her mommy’s make up

People always compliment me as cute and i get somewhat regularly checked if i'm over 18. I may have a strong bit of ingenue but mixed with i don't know what cuz small florals look cheap and age me while my favourite bubbly A-line dresses have bigger flowers. Being short and curvy tends to put me into the romantic category but i feel like that and ingenue are such opposites since one is youthful and the other mature haha

But wait im 24 and have a baby face and if i dress as ingenue i literally look like im 10. I dont want to look like im 10. I want to look 24. Is that supposed to happen?

Wow! This is very helpful! I'm Ingenue in height! But having dark hair and very dark brown eyes me thinks, well, it has been my personal style, personal preference and that is romantic. rewatching this for fun and at the part where you test your own ingenue essence. do you think it's possible you have some slight ethereal essence? the ingenue accessories that looked flattering on you felt a touch ethereal to me. but perhaps it was just the combination of natural flow-iness with other details. but i do think you have a touch of an otherworldiness about your eyes

Being matched with kibbe was an odd experience. Funny enough I only wanted to know my "answer," I've continued to wear the pigtails and romantic peasant look lol. My face is heart shaped, fairly full lips, very round eyes, and I'd never heard of that ring around the pupil but I checked and sure enough!
