How to Create a Group in Telegram

How do I create a waiting room when members first join to screen them and make sure they are not scammers or bots? There are people coming in and exiting immediatly and its annoying as everyone in the group can see them and it notifies everyone when new members join and exit. I think its just curious people coming in to see what the group is about. Or is there a setting where i can turn this off so the other members dont see whos entering and exiting?

How do you set your group so comments are made to each subject, like in Facebook? We don't want a perpetual running chat.

That was very helpful but I also have another question I have a database full of my students and I want to get it out to them but everybody's not in my contact list of my phone I have it on an Excel spreadsheet how do I invite all of them to telegram and let them know that I have a that I would like for them to join?
