😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
ОтветитьMany of these spaces I would consider too modern to be dark academia.
ОтветитьI had no idea our style had a name! “Dark Academia” sounds waaaay better than what our friends called it, “Professor Snape” 😂 although technically Dark Academia is exactly as Dark Arts 😁.
Thanks for the great video! I’m saving it when I’m feeling in a design rut. ❤❤❤
According to your examples dark academia is reserved for the ultra rich. Those of us who live in common housing with standard 8 foot ceilings and little in the way of gothic paneling and arches are excluded. Pretty pictures, but not very practical in attempting to work out how to achieve the effect with regular architecture in standard housing.
ОтветитьLove this style, but the drawback is that it all has to be dusted!
ОтветитьIt is a VAST stretch of the imagination that many of the examples in this video represent "Dark Academia". Dark Academia is NOT about light colored modern furnishings in modern rooms with pale walls & large windows, nor is it about seeing the same examples you've used in videos for other styles. While your examples are representative of a certain "luxury" style, they do not encompass what the various styles you talk about actually consist of. I liked your videos at first, but after seeing the same image used as an example of "Cottage Style", "Wabi Sabi", "Dark Wood Tones", "Coastal", and now "Dark Academia", I question your ability to understand various styles AND to get out of your same old same old design rut. Your aesthetic is fine for the clientele you design for, just don't pretend it's something it's not and certainly do not twist the various styles you talk about into something they are not. Unsubscribed.
ОтветитьTruly beautiful, you have done it again Susie just so timeless and classic
ОтветитьLove it! A little dark for me but I can always add color
Ответитьi've never been able to find my exact style, it was parts of cottage core but then midcentury some victorian, gothic but this style is so perfect to me. thanks for the video it was very informative!
ОтветитьI didn't know that I already decorated my apartment with Dark Academia Style....😊🥰
ОтветитьThis style is timeless , classy, elegant , i found today furniture to be like hospital furniture ,white , grey , straight cuts , nothing with personality , just my opinion
ОтветитьCan't we just call this the Estonian aesthetic, the Oxbridge, or the Beatnik aesthetic? I really hate the phrase Dark Academia.
ОтветитьI liked your decorating tips but I cringed at calling beautiful religious art "religious mythology" pictures.
ОтветитьBeautiful !
ОтветитьLow-key scary vibes
ОтветитьYou only use candle if your electric is cut of due to no payment of electricity bill 🧐 I'm professor asd ASD 🤪
ОтветитьThat obviously is quite a wide range of styles and materials: from modern, strict concrete structures to classic oak wood and historistic ornaments ...
ОтветитьDo you have light academia
ОтветитьContemporary Steampunk
ОтветитьAs I watch this, I’m coming to the realization everything in my home is on this list. I had no idea all the random treasures I collected over the years is a “style”. Haha- I suppose I’m not as unique as I once thought 😉
ОтветитьIt feels so dark and foreboding! I couldn't live with this at all !
ОтветитьIs Ralph Lauren dark academia?
ОтветитьI love this video. Your video has made me feel better
in these times. I Love Books and learning new things
and this video reminded me of some old Apothecary
bottles I have had for years that were hidden away and I
have gotten them out. My love for them has been
renewed because of your video.
Thank you,
Jeff
One should never minimize themselves: that's the simple sentence from which my love for Dark Academia originates. Contrary to minimalism, which goes against the individual, this style is all based on manifesting your own personality and History. Kudos for this tutorial-documentary!
ОтветитьI've been trying to research this topic for a week now because it fits my personality to a tee and this was hands down the best video I've seen on the topic so far! I will definitely be re-watching this and taking notes. Thank you so much!
ОтветитьThis is the style that my husband and I like and I'm wondering how to do this kind of look when we don't have any interesting architectural features. We just have a cookie cutter american suburban home from the late 90s/early 2000s. Would crown molding and upgrading the framing around our windows be enough? That's a pretty expensive thing to do. We need to update the cabinets and drawers throughout the house too.
ОтветитьLoving the dark style interiors !!!
ОтветитьGorgeous 😍
ОтветитьLove it 🍷
ОтветитьI fell in love with this style when I watched Enola Holmes. Thank you for the video. I had no idea what it was called.
ОтветитьATTENTION ! IF ANYONE HAS TOYED WITH THE IDEA OF BLACK PAINT ! THIS VIDEO GAVE ME THE COURAGE !! LOVE IT ! EVERY COLOR IS HIGH LIGHTEN BY BLACK , I STARTED OUT WITH MY LIBRARY BOOKCASES THEN TO A BIG FOYER TABLE AND A CABINET !! AND IT'S NICE ! OH I PAINTED THE SIDE BOARD IN MY DINING ROOM ! AND WHAT A TREAT SILVER AND RED TRANSFER DISHES JUST POP !!I LOVE THIS CHANNEL,,, I ALLOWED MYSELF TO GO FOR IT THANKS TO THESE BEAUTIFUL STYLED ROOMS AND I'M SO HAPPY !! THANK YOU
ОтветитьI absolutely LOVE this video and genre. Thank you for sharing it. I do collect a lot of memorabilia, antique silver frames, and sea shells from various ports of call, which I scatter around. Plus books... of course. My next step will be framing my grandparents' diplomas from Europe and old letters. I was lucky enough to inherit old artifacts and ephemera, so I am giving many of them their own special place.🌿
ОтветитьFor the past 52 years people called my style “Introvert” hahaha So nice to have a name.
ОтветитьI want this once I get a house
ОтветитьThis is my favorite esthetic for interior decor. I so enjoy all your videos. They are beautifully descriptive, informational and soothing to listen to and watch.
ОтветитьThis is a style I've only heard about last year through music - interesting to see it's interpretation through decorating!
ОтветитьWho's farting out these ridiculously named decorating trends?
ОтветитьThat's fascinating. Having grown up around antiques from the 1780s (and documents and books from earlier) through mid 20th century (we're from Colonial family and Dad was award-winning 1960s artist), it's incredible to me so see these designs that span centuries integrated into rooms together.
The challenge is to ensure warm, well-lit spaces at focal points. The best libraries always had them. And I love the accent of cleverly cut foliage and blooms from outside--which we still put into 1870s bottles, arts and crafts vases, kitty 1950s lemon yellow bowls....people don't realize you can cut evergreen and mix it with liriope blooms and butterfly bush spears and a range of foliage throughout the year. Old bottles are my favorite.
I adore the style but could never afford it!!
ОтветитьHello! Am l in the first 100 subscribers? I wouldike to register for SkillShare.
ОтветитьI've been struggling to understand my design style but this video helped me conceptualize the authentic I've been unconsciously cultivating foe years. Hopefully I can begin to make it more cohesive now that I understand myself a bit better
ОтветитьThank you so much for all your videos, you are definitely one of the very best interior designers. I love how you do all different styles with great flair. You're super talented, please keep them coming.
ОтветитьI have never heard the term before. Now I know what I am. Thanks. Traditional just never quite covered it.
ОтветитьThis looks more like Hollywood Regency than "Dark Academia," which focuses on books, clutter, coffee, Greco-Roman motifs, a room that reflects the demands of higher education, particularly in connection with elite schools of Britain and the US.
Ответитьi wish i could volunteer my house and you do whatever you like for photos or videos. I live in Connecticut. I have a country colonial house but it not decorated country. it's eclectic. i love colorful paintings and prints and music i have a baby grand piano, Tuscan dining table, ethnic pieces, natural elements clay, wood, crystal.
Ответитьi love so many styles and colors. wow. your videos are amazing !
ОтветитьGreat video thanks. Looks very comfortable.
