I bought a CREED Aventus - 2021 Batch | TOP or FLOP?

I bought got aventus, but it was the first and last time I’ll buy aventus. There’s better choices out there with that smell quite the same or even better in my opinion, and for a much better price than aventus.

Razvan, thank you for this review. Your batch is from 2021 because the first two digits before the letter indicate the year of manufacture (21Y01). My batch is from 2019 (19S11) and I'm happy because it's a well-balanced (fruity and smoky) batch that lasts a long time.

Razvan, great video. I have 2 older 120ml bottles of Aventus that I believe are from 2016. I have to double check and look at the batch number but I am almost positive they are from 2016. Anyway, the performance is really good with my batch. Because the bottles are older & they have macerated a long time, that might be the reason I am getting very good performance. When Aventus came out in 2010, a lot of people say that the fragrance lasted a long time because there was less pineapple and more birch in earlier batches. I am not sure how true that is. The Perfume Guru did mention this a few years ago but I can not find the video and his channel is no longer in English. I was in the mall a few weeks ago and I smelled Aventus. It was a fruity batch and I thought that it smelled great. You will enjoy your bottle even though it is a new batch. Take care my friend.

I bought aventus 2021 batch at edgars, it is nonsense,it does not last all day terribly disappointing,people will no longer support it.

I have never been convinced by 'Aventus'. Even the various clones that are praised again and again can't inspire me.
Only 'Bois du Portugal' has really convinced me.

I tried me friends aventus few years ago. It was amazing best aftershave ever. I recently got my own bottle. This is pure joke. Last like 2h. Not oily at all. No pinapple. Im glad i bought it in Poland for bit less than uk rrp. Cdnim is much better then that.

I went to purchase it, it was a 2021 version. I was disappointed as it was a lighter version of Mont Blanc explorer☹️.

Regarding clones, just take CDNI and mix it with MONT BLANK EXPLORER your will smell soooooo good for less than 80 Euros 🤪.

100%, not worth a purchase currently. I say this as a bit of a Creed 'fanboy', or at least I used to be. Company is a joke nowadays, prices keep going up every year for lower quality diluted fragrances which don't even smell like they used to.

Genuine Creed fragrances aren’t wrapped in plastic. Also, you can’t smell GENUINE Creed fragrances when unboxing. 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

I have to say I bought a big flacon a few months ago and I decided to wear this week to work, my head is blown up this Friday 13th from compliments and flirts non stop all week, unbelievable, nothing compares so don't waste money on clones

Excellent review. I received my first (and last) bottle on 4/28/22. I completely echo your sentiment regarding this fragrance. I think it's a very nice fragrance, but I made the mistake of purchasing Montblanc Explorer roughly 2-3 years prior. I had never experienced Aventus before or anything like it, so it's possible that Explorer somewhat spoiled the surprise. Nonetheless, the style of fragrance is nice, but I was shocked at how similar the two are. I purchased Explorer at Macy's while looking for a possible alternative to Bleu de Chanel - a very solid performer that always brought complements my way. The woman at the counter had me sample different versions of Bleu de Chanel (I now have all of them), as well as Sauvage and Explorer. Sauvage and Explorer projected very well but the price difference was substantial, and she kept going on about how similar Explorer was to Creed Aventus. I had never heard of Creed or Aventus at the time. Now, a few years later, I decided to take the plunge and purchase this fragrance for the same reasons you did. After owning both, I can detect very little difference between Explorer and Aventus. Sure, there are differences, if you're looking for them, but you would have to almost own bottles of each to know the difference and that's not the crowd I'm trying to appeal to!

In all seriousness, I never really wore Explorer much because it never garnered the complements that my Bleu de Chanel brought! For the price, Aventus should project more. It should be as pleasant as it is, and have similar performance as Sauvage. I had this expectation when purchasing Aventus based on the plethora of videos and reviews available.

I will continue to wear Aventus as it is a sunk cost at this point. It's very possible that I simply haven't given it enough of a chance. But, my initial impression is somewhat underwhelming. I hope it proves me wrong over time. It's possible that my chemistry doesn't work well with it, or I'm wearing it in the wrong settings. Maybe I should just keep the bottle stored away for a while and give it a chance to mature - if that's even a thing...

This experience has taught me a few things:
1. Get testers/smaller samples before taking the plunge on a 100 ml bottle like I did!
2. Buy it because YOU like it. Don't buy it expecting others to like it. You'll just be setting yourself up for disappointment.

FINALLY - Creed Aventus is a fantastic fragrance. It's top tier quality and should probably be worn in somewhat formal settings because I found it to be much more understated than expected. I'm still proud to have it in my collection but I can't call it the best performer in my collection. The price makes this fact sting.

100% agree. The new batches SUCK! My 2014 batch lasted 4 years as could be used so sparingly. The 2021 batches last no more than 2-3 hours

Very interesting. I got my first bottle of Aventus as a Christmas present in 2013 and not only did it smell amazing, but the longevity and projection was superb - you could smell it all day with 2 or 3 sprays.

I never had any Aventus for a few years since I finished the last one, so very recently I decided I’d get a new bottle as I had some Creed vouchers to use. The smell is exactly as I remember it but the projection and longevity isn’t the same. I don’t know if it’s because it’s actually weaker or because the sprayer nozzle on all Creeds have changed since then. Creed nozzles were known to be very generous with the amount of juice per spray. I don’t know what equivalence ratio is between the old nozzle and the current one but it may explain somewhat.

The price of Aventus in particular has really shot up since it came out. In the early years I think it was £210 for 120ml, now it’s £295 for 100ml

I bought 2 bottle of creed aventus. One is made 9/10 the other one is made 10/10 the first one is more citrusy and the other one is more smoky and the think is that they are made only 1 month after the first soo for 1 month the parfum has a lot of different just for 1 month difference.

Thank you. I have several vintage batches from 2011 through 2019. I just bought the 10th anniversary bottle. I’m waiting to see how it performs. The older batches have good and bad. It’s all a matter of opinion. But yes I hope the new owners do not cut corners.

I was going to say the bottle is too young and you should give it time. But then you said you have a 19s31 batch and it’s the same for you. People really are loving that one now. I have 19u11 (last batch before reformulation) and it has really evolved nicely. Great performance/complexity on me. Not 2016 good, but we may never get that again. I’m going to continue purchasing new batches and let them age. Hoping for the best. Great review 😬

Did you bought it straight from the Creed official website? Or a store?

My first Aventus experience was in 2014. I was wearing it in a theater at the front seats and my friend at the back of the theater texted me to tell me that they could smell me all the way from behind (back in 2014 aventus was still a relatively niche scent).
Today it is just a shadow of its former self.

Man I am sorry to break it to you, but I am almost 100% this is a fake. Creed DOES not put plastic wrap around any of thier boxes. That is a tall tell sign of a counterfeit.

Ah. I’ve been wanting to get a real bottle of Aventus since I sampled it a couple years ago. The other day I scored a 4.oz bottle for $100 unopened by chance and had to buy it. Should be here by Friday and I can figure out if it’s legit or not. Would be cool if it’s a banger batch but I can’t find that out till I get it. If it’s fake EBay will give me my money back so I’m not too worried.

I got this same exact batch! I found your video by googling for the batch code on my bottle. To me it seems less smoky and the pineapple lasts longer throughout the dry down. I barely noticed the birch note, which is a bummer because that’s my favorite part of Aventus.
For performance, on my skin it has maybe 1 hour where it projects, and within 2 hours it’s a skin scent, which for the price, frankly is unacceptable.

Hey I bought a 23 F batch mine didn’t come with the longer piece of paper with creeds history is this normal for the new batches ?

I have4 different batches from 2021 and all of them is diferent some are fruty some are vanila smoky but all of them last 10h after macuration first time i sprayed any of them it has like weak and disapointing now 2 years after opened is magic and perform like 2 days every of them day after I get compliments of clowths just put in box and let them macurate,in my case fruty batches project more and for me smell better than vanila smoky variations whos mybe smell longer on skin because is richer smell but frutty batches is pure magic I cant tell whats batch is the best all have unique diferent smell but in the same time the same!and this fregrance desurve the hype beacuse of batch variations and orginality i have also 2015 batch and newer batches i like more!if you have old batches and tell thats better than 2021 you lied and you dont even try 2021 batchs.

I have 2011 batch when it was first introduced. Let me tell you guys, yes it is smoky. But it wasn’t as long lasting as people says regarding vintage batches. Its not as dense or projection monster as people claimed. Im not sure about any other batches as I have never tried it. But I can concur that I have one of the earlier batches—longevity and projection was still an issue even before the reformulation dramas.
