This reminds me of a scene from Lonestar I did when I studied at The Neighborhood Playhouse in NYC. It's about two brothers; one has just returned from Viet Nam and his brother tells him that he has slept with his wife Elizabeth. At the end of the scene our instructor, the great Richard Pinter, asked us what was missing. My scene partner and I couldn't find the answer. Pinter said: "Elizabeth"...Just because the character isn't onstage, doesn't mean you don't have a relationship with them. Same thing in this scene with "Gordon". It's a difficult ask, but worth working on. The question is: Who is Gordon to Leah? REALLY.

Awesome work! Great advice!!!
The scenes between Gene Hackman and Denzel Washington in "Crimson Tide" are MASTERFUL.

I don't get why the woman who enters the scene remains there with this stranger who is basically bullying her. it just didn't ring true to me.

The young lady who is wearing the dress is not only beautiful but she is amazingly talented. I’ve watched quite a few of her videos. I’m currently studying Meisner acting myself but I’m only in my second semester

I kinda got it but sorry i could t see the drama the most important part. Now if someone wants to said it is minimalistic it is acting for camera i still don’t see anything imaginative or the tension. No Chekov no Shakespeare, and there is a great space between those two to find something for your self and again nothing. I speak about this scene not Meisner’s techniques. I like those. In the end it is technique, different people will learn different techniques but there is only one methodology of acting and that is System. I just couldn’t recognise Meisner in this scene. Shalom 🙃🌹🥃

To be honest, i didn't like their performance, but I guess much depends on the question: was it meant for theather or for cinema? The problem is that I feel none of the two is the right answer. Both of the two expressed their feelings too much (which would be ok in a theater but not for Cinema). A more subtle (but more passionate) performance would have been less awkward to watch, maybe 'coz we don't know anythng about their loss, and the lack of context.

I’m sorry but I do not like this piece. The actresses are great but the piece is crap.

How much prep time did they have? I’m honestly impressed how they were so fluent with this scene, no thinking just doing.

I rewatched Diana and Layla again with the sound off and I can definitely see the tone of the scene better. Diana is like the comedic relief and Layla is reacting off how goofy this lady is and it breaks down her self-confidence by the end. It's so powerful with the sound off.👏👏👏👏🛫

I actually paused this video and went to watch that scene in The Men with the volume down. It was exactly as described. Marlon Brando is so good at believing everything happening around him while still being technically aware. The lady was so good at turning him. The way she gently broke into his personal space like a mother to a disappointed child. And the rolling pin bit feels like the writer's opinion that these two are so self-involved and silly in the greater scheme of things and that they should just reconcile. I think that informed the tone of the scene. She is soooooo desperate it almost looks manipulative and calculated. And he is so immature with Norman Desmond crying arm. They balanced each other out well. Even the way Brando starts to move his head as she gets closer, like a baby looking up at his mother.

There's probably a lot of people who use this technique and have no clue they're doing it.
