waste of time I found the real fix download media tool and press on upgrade keep personal files. once windows is done reinstalling default files delete old windows install using disk cleanup

well mine didnt error and it deleted the recovery partition ! but you then didnt go on to explain how to re create it !

downloaded windows 10 iso but it gave me install.esd not .wim

You must use windows own File Explorer when copying the file to C:\Windows\System32\Recovery. I've used Total Commander and it was not working although the file looks like it was copied.

Hi, i am not able to delete the mount folder in my c drive after my reagentc issue was resolved. I keep getting the error "you require permission from user to make changes to this folder". i am the admin and it is my pc. please help

if you don't see the file, go to folder options and select show hidden/system files

Thank you for the very helpful instruction video. In my case (deleted and then recreated the recovery partition) i needed to add another step after I had copied the winre.wim file to actually "activate" the file. I had to use the following command
reagentc /setreimage /path C:\Windows\System32\Recovery

It's not a win file any longer. It's a esd file. Unable to mount it.
