Solo shooter, filming vanlife and hiking videos. want a general do it all lens for sony zv 1e any suggestions?
ОтветитьSony 16-35 F4, Samyang AF 24 F1.8, Sigma 24-70 F2.8 ART, Samyang AF 35 F1.4, Sony 85 F1.8, Tamron 70-180 F2.8. Theese glasses are almost same optical quality as the most expensive glasses (a lot of time with trying, comparing). On my a7rIII or A7IV really don´t need OSS. And specialy one in love - vintage Helios 44-2 58 F2 🙂
ОтветитьWhen 'budget' is still expensive
ОтветитьHonestly to me if a lens doesn't cost under $200 it's not cheap, but hey I know i'm just delusional bc up untill now i haven't really found such a cheap lens
ОтветитьI just bought a 50mm 1.8, covered a dance event and I have to say I'm mind blown! The quality for the price is INSANE
ОтветитьReally good video! Probably one of the most informative video about lenses. You covered when/why/how, especially the practical how part, which is straight to the point and not like many other channels. One thing to mention is that you can do great work with almost any lens. I just watched a full video about massive ski jumps where the whole video is of very poor quality image wise, the snow is blown out and the sky is over saturated, you can't actually see the detail of what you want to see, but hey, they are in a Red Bull event doing massive stuff. The whole video is probably made from a GoPro so what does that matter??? It's always the content and the story that makes a great video. Just like if you produced this video in poor image quality, like in a quick podcast style phone video, I'd still say the same praise, because your information is great. So just go for that one which you can comfortably afford. That's my reaction of the last parts.
ОтветитьThe cut to "how 'bout no!" cracked me up. Really enjoying your videos, Chris! Keep it up!
Ответитьis this for full frame or for aps-c thoughts?
ОтветитьGreat alternatives. Another big money saver is also getting the sigma or metabones E to canon EF adapter and look at older canon L lenses on the used market.
Ответитьhahaha!! "how bout no!!" LOOOL
ОтветитьYou get what you pay for.
ОтветитьNo expensive lens but I want a lens that's good for low light and take great pictures in the day time. Once I see what I like then I'm buying it.
ОтветитьCould you do the same video but with Canon EF lenses? 😂
ОтветитьI will just say this, if you are a still photographer who will make large prints, it do matters which optical quality of a Lens you have ! And it do matter if you use your gear a lot that the Lenses are of good build quality so they can take some beating now and then, it DO happens. Some of the cheap plastic "fantastic" Lenses cannot stand a lot of use, that goes also for cheap Cameras.
ОтветитьIf you've been eyeing the 16-35mm F2.8L that all the real estate photographers swear by but could never afford the insane 2000$+ pricetag, Tokina makes a 17-35mm 4.0f for about 400$ that actually isn't shit. Sure you lose a stop of light, but its actually an aspherical lens in that coveted ideal wide angle zoom range that actually yields nice results. And it seems very few people even know it exists.
Ответитьmy conclusion is buy second hand original brand lens as it keeps its value. only 3rd party lens if you want to keep that focus length lens or like sigma in many case perform better than original brand
ОтветитьAlways appreciate your advice. The Sigma 16-28mm f-2.8 DG DN Contemporary Lens you recommended in an older video is also a great choice.
ОтветитьHi, what 35mm lens would you recommend?
ОтветитьI was expecting $20 lenses, max $80.
ОтветитьI purchased the sony 50mm f1.8 and i'll be honest the auto focus was slow and would do a lot of hunting in low light.Just wasn't impressed. I picked up a rokinon (samyang) 45mm f1.8 and updated it from v2 to v6 firmware and its been a great performer in a very natural focal length. all in all i'm happy with it for sub $300 (279 or 309 with the samyang lens station for firmware updates)
ОтветитьLens companies hate this video😉
Ответитьidk if anyone will see this but will lenses like sigma or tamron work with the sonys autofocus tracking system???
ОтветитьI've just added the video in my personal playlist. Thanks a lot!🤗
ОтветитьI might get the Sony A7iii I am into wildlife filmmaking. Any advice on which lens
ОтветитьThanks a lot for this video.
I just started out in shooting sport videos professionally in Nigeria, and getting quality lens that can do the job has been a serious issue.
Watching this video just narrowed down what I need and at the same time save me a lot of money.
Thanks Chris
what about the 18-105
ОтветитьEvery time y’all make “cheap” lens reviews the price goes up! Let’s slow down on these types of videos. Most of us photographers and videographers already know this information.
ОтветитьHey Mr. Saleman, do you offer warranty on these lenses?
ОтветитьHow bout just go to a pawn shop and get it cheaper than that
ОтветитьThanks for the great informative review 👍 ✨ ✨ ✨
ОтветитьSheridan Bokeh!
ОтветитьWill the 50mm 1.8 still work well with the Sony A7III?
Ответитьthis is tech, not photography.
ОтветитьJust a tip for any beginners like me:
APS-C sensor cameras need a 35mm lens to get the same look/FOV as a 50mm on a full frame camera. The calculation, for Nikon at least, is x1.5 35x1.5=52.5, very close to a "Nifty Fifty".
I had a heart attack watching this🥲💔
ОтветитьWhere was the canon 50mm f 1.8
Great lens and it only cost 120 €
Thank you, you did the homework for us.
ОтветитьThe basic rule is buy the best you can afford. All this emphasis on saving pennies just for the sake of saving pennies is stupid IMO.
ОтветитьI don't agree, the professional lenses are not that expensive and tend to come with features like weather proofing and generally more durable construction. Plus, a good lens will last you far longer than the camera body itself. If money is an issue, there's a ton of lenses that are on serious markdown lately as the industry rushes to the mirrorless lenses, even though very few of them bring any real benefit over the non-mirrorless design.
If you can't afford new, chances are that you can get a used lens that's in nearly as good a shape as a new one, for a fraction of the price.
The whole video I was wondering why you chose to hold the Mic instead of going hands free and clipping that bad boy on yourself? Maybe it made a good prop 🤷♂️
ОтветитьThank you so much Chris, very informative. God bless you!
Ответитьthis options are great, but what do you think about manual lenses from analogic cameras? I have a couple of those and I think they are great.
ОтветитьIf less price is better quality so, yes.
ОтветитьThat Tamron 70-180 is worth the money. Get it. It's an outstanding lens that has served me oh so well from hockey to race cars.
