Arch on external drive not showin in boot priority list, but only in boot override.
Ответитьhello, can i follow the same thing but with external hard drive? i'm currently using windows 11 but i wanna try out arch linux without risk of losing my files by installing it to another drive. but i am so confused about the manual installation by following other videos because it asks for the driver's name which i don't get (i also have no idea if it would work successfully if i input my laptop's driver's name because i want it to be installed in another hard drive).
ОтветитьThanks for the tutorial and the brilliant suggestions at the end.
ОтветитьI followed this video but my devices are unable to find a bootable operating system on the USB Hard Drive. I followed the same partitioning as you, except I already had ~1TB of video files on the first partition of the drive that i did not get rid of. Could that be the problem? I also tried investigating using diskpart on my windows computer, Apparently there's no MBR found on it. Any help would be appreciated
Diskmgmt shows the partitions as:
1613.0 GB NTFS (for the video files)
300 MB Healthy EFI System Partition (/boot/efi)
1.95 GB Health Primary Partition (linuxswap)
247.75 GB Healthy Primary Partition (root)
Hello. So i can just install all the drivers and put that on my external hdd and after that i can just yoink it into another pc and boot from it without issues. Right?
Ответитьi can open arch linux external PC with this SSD
ОтветитьI download my Arc ISO from SourceForge in page of Arch-Calam, but it did not boot in XFCE with Calamarez Installer. I successfully install it to my VMWare Pro by archinstall. But my goal is to install Arch as bare-metal on my external hdd. I wonder if you have still link with working calam installer. Can you show how to install it by archinstall in external drive? Also, my Loptop has no UEFI but just old BIOS.
ОтветитьThank you so much :)
