what a real man! All that Zamp went through and somewhere at some time he found a way too free his soul from all the past torture that the bird had put the zamp through. He found Jesus Christ and the heart too forgive the bird for all the pain, suffering, beatings, and mental torture that another man could do to another. FORGIVENESS was his freedom WOW. WHAT A TRUE CHRISTIAN MAN!
ОтветитьWho this likes this?!?!? I love this old man
Ответитьi met him once at church when i was young. he was friends with the pastor and told stories about his time. i remember him saying he lived in the same neighbor has brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie and he'd look out in his binoculars and see her on the balcony. he was a great man.
ОтветитьJust finished the book!
Louis Zamperini was an adventurous rambunctious youth, an Olympian hero who competed with and against Jesse Owens, and then became a World War II soldier in the United States Air Force. He was a survivor of a plane crash and went adrift for 2,000 miles on the Pacific Ocean for 47 days with no water or food while he was surrounded by sharks and vultures.
Zamperini was rescued by the Japanese and then routinely beaten as a POW and as an enemy combatant under the care of the most notorious psychopath in a secret prison camp. Subject to starvation, all kinds of emotional and psychological abuse, Zamperini was finally scheduled to be massacred with his friends and fellow captives when the A-bombs were dropped on Japan. Allied victory would eventually bring him home to Torrence, California - his home. Then the nightmares, the PTSD and a battle with addiction began. No one it seemed could help him - but him.
Although Zamperini's powerful legs had once set world records at a young age; it turned out that his forgiveness was his most awesome strength. It was a kind of forgiveness that religion at it's best teaches. It took seven years for the author of "Unbroken" to write the story in the sunset of this remarkable man's life. Skip the movie and read the book. You will want to know every last detail. That's what a good book does.
Wow...
ОтветитьI would never be able to forgive someone who tortured me for years
ОтветитьWhat an amazing and educational book! It’s the kind of book you don’t want to take a break from. It should be required reading for students. Everyone should read this! Every surviving P.O.W. should be living in his own mansion purchased for them by overpaid Congressmen.
ОтветитьSelute for the brave man
ОтветитьI have the book but completely forgot about it until seeing this video and seeing the cover of the book at the beginning of the video and have found a great interest to wanting to read this book
ОтветитьI've not watched the movie. The book about him was so good.

ОтветитьWhat an incredible life journey this man had. I wish I could have met him
ОтветитьAte the chocolate bars on the raft...blamed the airman who died...Torrance California...unbroken author never meet Zamperini!...glamorized this rat!
ОтветитьHe died 5 years ago today. I remember this story on Sunday Morning. I saw the film and read the book. This wonderful man was a true hero. Not because of what happen to him in the war, but how he lived his life after. He refused to be bitter and angry. He lived his life. God Bless Him! I hope that someday Unbroken is made again. It was good, but I thought it was lacking in telling his story. Thank you Louis for your service to your country! Thank you for being you!
ОтветитьI met him and heard him speak in his mid 90’s. Remarkable man.
ОтветитьAmazing what he survived, incredible...... and people complain about wearing a mask or self isolating to do their part to try to slow/stop this virus.
ОтветитьThat was and Amazing story and Heroics that very few could have lived thru. God bless.
ОтветитьPower of God is forgiveness is so freeing.
ОтветитьMy 8th graders love you. I'm a pilot, too. I have experience with engineering failures. My dad saved my life when we lost our left prop. I make louie real for my students. He is an eternal role model

ОтветитьWatch out badass man right here
ОтветитьRest in peace good man 👏
ОтветитьLouie Zamperini , returned to Kwajalein Atoll, Republic of the Marshall Islands from June 2001 to July 2001, I was on same island as overseas contractor with Raytheon when he was giving this one interview to Kevin Barnes, another contractor who also worked with Raython Technical Services, Louis Zamperini spent 58 yrs away from what was known as "Execution Island" in WW2 the Central Pacific Ocean, he gave a 1 hr 45 min interview exclusively with Kevin Barnes in the hot tropics , Louis never missed a beat, he narrated and told his story. The interviewer said he never got a questioned in until 10 minutes near end of interview. Lou recounted every faceted detail of his POW status while being held on Kwajalein for that time in May 1943 . Truly fascinating 👌
ОтветитьOur family had the pleasure of knowing this great man, it was so fascinating to listen to him, tell his life story. R.I.P. Luigi
ОтветитьI'm here after watching movie unbroken
ОтветитьI am reading UNBROKEN. But I won't be viewing the DVD till I've finished reading the book. God bless you, Louis.
ОтветитьMore people should walk away from feelings of bitterness.

ОтветитьA true hero
ОтветитьLouis Zamporini
ОтветитьAmazing story.
ОтветитьBaddass to the core, through and through. God bless this American hero and let him serve as a beacon of our resilience.
ОтветитьLouis got to live a life of fame and humility and hopfeully his nigtmares of his time in the POW camps did not follow him in his death, while his torturer the bird may not have been punished for he life lived a weathly life shrouded in his shame so much so he could never admit his shame nor ever meet Louis The bird died with wealth but with dishonor on his spirit
ОтветитьJob Zamperini's real life counterpart while The Bird's counterpart is the boiled one.
ОтветитьWhen I first retired I worked at Macy's in the men's clothing department and he bought a couple pairs of pants from me. As we chatted a bit I realized who he was. A very nice guy with a BIG personality!!
