is it possible to make the relay turn on with a 12v positive? like if i tap power from my ac compressor wire/fuse to turn on the fan. that way when i am parked and no air is moving through the condenser, i can still get cold air by drawing air through it with the fan?

Would you run a thermostat around the same degrees as the fan kick in or would you have like a buffer between the two?

I installed an electric fan in my car to replace the old fan that cooled my AC condenser. Currently, the way it’s wired, the fan only comes on when the AC is on and when pressure sensor passes a threshold. I want it to also be turned on when my car reaches 87 degrees C. The old wiring from the old fan accomplished this. Could I use the old fan’s wiring to accomplish this? If so, would it just be the ground wire (because it already gets power from a relay).

Great video. I noticed my electric fan turns on when engine turns on. 85 relay goes to ground on car chasis but not connected to temp switch. I would like for electric fan to turn on only when engine gets to 200 degrees. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Would it be okay not to use a temp switch and just have it constant on when the ignition is on?

What happens when you have ac on when you turn on t he key or truck on? Ac condenser will not get any air til the temp reaches certain temp?

Many modern vehicles’ fan will keep running after the vehicle is turned off. Is that something to consider in wiring up an electric fan and if so, how?

The gauge of wire used here differs along the circuit. Could you please tell me why and what you used?
For instance the red wire looks one gauge and the brown another for the grounds?

After having my radiator fan bust up my radiator after breaking off its mount I am upgrading from a pulley fan to an electric fan while I replace my radiator and this was exactly what I needed to help make sure I had not missed anything when installing it. Amazing work, helping people out even a year later!

Thank you for the video. Im trying to find out why the fan in my vehicle is not turning on. It works when I unplug the coolant sensor. I might have to test the sensor with a candle to so if its broken.

I well understand the switching via earth/ground (85) but I almost never do that. I guess I started by just earthing the relay as that seemed easier. Switch via earthing is a good way. I just seem to always go the switched wire (86) to the load/fan/lights/horn etc. Either works and if one has a sensor that goes directly to earth it would be easier to got the earth wire way. Just wanted to say the switched power way works better in some cases. Bobby

Hi, great video. I just did my camaro with a setup like this. But i would like to keep the fan running after the car ignition is turned off. Like a temp power delay shutoff for the fan to keep the fan running until it reaches a specific cool down temp and shuts off by itself qfter ignition is off and i walk away from the car.
Could you provide a video thats shows how to do that. As an option to your existing fan install video.

Great demonstration, but I'm just curious why a 5 pin was used like this. If all the pins were used on a 5 pin then there would be less wiring and a simpler circuit.
