My wife is Catholic & im a former Protestant & I love orthodoxy... Since there isnt any Orthodox Church nearby, I attend the Catholic one. Evergone does the sign if cross from left to right and only I do it from right to left 😂
ОтветитьBro I am Catholic and I have been doing the Orthodox version all my life! 😅
Ответитьthank you Amen God bless❤
ОтветитьAn an Orthodox Christian we also using three fingers, cross ourselves from head to chest and left to right, meaning we have turned from darkness to the light, not from right to left as is suggested on this clip.
ОтветитьCatholic makes an upside down cross
ОтветитьNow we are talking about fingers 🤌
ОтветитьGood grief people 🙄
ОтветитьThe eastern orthodox feels like it's a little more spiritual, imho
ОтветитьNone of this is Biblical. Oh. I forgot. The Catholic Church is the living authority of Christ so it's ok 😒
ОтветитьThis man was clearly not raised Catholic. We all finish on the heart bud ❤
ОтветитьI was taught the three fingers as a Catholic as well and it varies depending on what rite you are a part of, what region you live in, or how well you were catechized so this video is a little disingenuous. That’s what’s unique about the Catholic Church - it’s many rites in coexistence as a mosaic of Christ. We allow for varied expressions of Christianity to coexist and focus less on doing everything one singular way.
These are just discipline practices, not dogmas. It is what you believe and how you live that will allow you to enter the kingdom of heaven, not how you make the sign of the cross. I say this because videos pitting one against the other and subtly trying to make it seem like orthodoxy is more ‘true’ or special while downplaying the nuance of Catholicism feed into people’s scrupulosity instead of being charitable representations of each other. You mischaracterize the truth of Catholics when making sweeping generalizations and ignoring that their are more than Latin Rite Catholics as well - we are not one giant monolith.
Per signum crucis (head), de inimicis nostris (lips), liberanos Deus noster (heart), in nomine Patris (head) et Filii (stomach) et Spiritus (left) Sancti (right). Amen.
ОтветитьNot true, catholics use 3 finger as well.
Ответитьas a vietnamese catholic, i was taught to cross with the thumb, and to cross from the forehead to the lips, and to the chest
ОтветитьI was raised as an evangelical spiritually I felt very connected to god and I was excited to learn more as I grew up I moved to the US the religion felt fake very unauthentic I felt like people here thought of themselves as better than others or that they were always right. I became less interested and judgmental of god and religion. Now that I’m 21 I’ve been thinking, are atheists the type of people I want to be represented by? I don’t share their liberal mentality I’m a very traditional and conservative man. Catholicism seems to be giving in to the woke mindset with now even the pope and the churches standing up for homosexuality and I started doing my research and for some reason the Orthodox Church kept getting me excited the more I learned about it it’s been months and I keep getting this call I’ve decided to do a bit more research and hopefully I’ll 100% join the church when I’m ready very happy to have found my connection back to god and I can’t repent enough for the things I’ve thought and said against god
ОтветитьIt honestly doesn’t matter as long as you’re connecting with and honoring God.
ОтветитьTri == 3, uni==1. Deut 6:4 says what
ОтветитьWhere is all this in the bible?
ОтветитьAs a Catholic i was taught to lay my thimb over my index finger to make a cross idk if its just mexican catholics
ОтветитьNot exactly I was taught when I was little the three finger together and two last fingers on the palm hand and I was brought up in the Roman rite but my grandmother does that in that way, my grandpa, my mother and ourselves.
As for the cross yes I also seen that as well.
As an Indonesian Catholic, I was taught nothing about this 🥲
ОтветитьOrthodox are the only original Christians and the only who follow Jesus Christ teaching 🙏☦️🙏
The Catholic leaders have kidnapped and falsely changed the message of our Savior and God Jesus Christ for their own purposes…
Wrong, Orthodox don't go down to their chest they go to their belly button first and then right, left
ОтветитьGod bless you and all your family 🎉🎉
ОтветитьThank you Brother for this wonderful information 🎉🎉🎉
ОтветитьOrthodox Christians seem to be all about dividing the Church. It’s a denomination that needs more humility and less arrogance.
ОтветитьThe eastern Catholics use 3 fingers crossing right to left as well . And I’ve seen some Roman Catholics use 3 fingers too but as a Roman Catholic we use an open hand and touch with the index and middle finger signifying Christ’s two natures, fully Devine and fully human.
ОтветитьI'm a Greek Orthodox from Colombia South America my country use to be Roman Catholic before comunist and liberals destroyed the society but i'm 100% Orthodox ☦️🇬🇷
ОтветитьCatholics should use 3 fingers as well, but it's largely culturally different.
ОтветитьWhat I crossed myself the Orthodox way as a Catholic and was never told I was doing it wrong
ОтветитьAs an Ethiopian orthodox christian we make the cross from the head to stomach (representing the coming of our Lord from the sky to earth) then from left to right representing Jesus Christ bringing us from hall to heaven through his death and resurrection. And here we put our pointing finger straight and 3 fingers down representing the unity of holy trinity as one God.
ОтветитьIm catholic and use my thumb and two fingers like the Orthodox, but go left to right
ОтветитьIm a recent convert to roman Catholic and i was taught the 3 fingers
ОтветитьOi mate we Orthodox go head then below the hole in the stomach then right arm/shoulder then left.If you do it at the chest thats a upside down cross, yeah Peter was crusified like that but that aint the way to do it, do you value Peter more then Jesus.Think about what you doing.
ОтветитьWhich is more pleasing to God? Or would He really prefer sinners being reached with the gospel?
ОтветитьWhen the green screen gives you the stigmata
ОтветитьCatholic dign of the cross is using the thomb and the finge to maje a cross. The other 3 finges represents the Holy trinithy
ОтветитьIts not to chest, its to stomach
ОтветитьAs a Catholic everytime we make the sign of the Cross we give Praise and thanks to Holy trinity.
Blessed be th Father who created me, Jesus Christ his Son who redeemed me and the Holy Spirit who Sanctifies me an dwells within me.
God bless all our Orthodox brothers and Sisters in Christ.
Ave Maria 🙏
As cotholic theres no cotholic religion symbol😢
ОтветитьI'm done fucking around somebody tell me the right way to do it RIGHT NOW!
ОтветитьThere’s also the Russian Old Rite form. With the joining of some Old Ritualists back to the canonical Church (MP/ROCOR), some people are adopting Old Rite prayers and customs.
ОтветитьCatholic, but I learned the “Orthodox” one
ОтветитьMexican catholic and we make a cross with first fingers.
ОтветитьI am Orthodox, and I and maybe most people around me don't stop at the chest and go down to the belly button
ОтветитьIt doesn’t matter, thankfully
ОтветитьI’m catholic and I do mine the 2nd way, I believe catholic is the true form of Christianity and these corrupt things are from Satan who actually convinced a lot of ppl that catholic is bad. Know Jesus Christ ❤
ОтветитьThere isn't a strict code on how Catholics make their hand. We can do either gesture.
ОтветитьMost Protestant Roman Catholic Vs. Sigma Orthodox Preacher
ОтветитьNeither got it right!
