The approximate radix-4 booth multipliers consists of a modified Booth encoding (MBE) to reduce the number of partial product generation. The design of approximate radix-4 booth encoders are presented based on adder. A Booth multiplier consists of three parts: partial product generation using a Booth encoder, partial product accumulation using compressors and final product generation using a fast adder. The Booth encoding has been proposed for improving the performance of multiplication of twoʹs complement binary numbers and it has been further improved by the MBE or radix-4 Booth encoding. The booth encoder as the partial product generation and accumulator as the compressors of the multiplier in radix-4 booth alogrithms. The partial product array process consists the reduced the multiolication stage and reduces the complexity of the functons. The error of approximate adders and multipliers including the mean error distance, the relative error distance and the normalization of booth multiplier.
