Heute inhaltlich immer noch genau so. Irgendwie bezeichnend.

I despise the government bias of modern, western education.
Authoritarian/Social(ist) Government = Evil; Democratic Capitalist Governemnt = Good.

Often, the only assumption people make and are taught to believe is exactly that. They are near never taught the social and economic advances of a Government, only that it is inherently good or bad based on it's ideological allignment.
It is a bias as with Bismark and Willy, where there is not taken into consideration or focus the domestic advancements in Social Policy and Workers Rights.

Well guess what, Capitalists: The only things the people truly and popularly hated about the GDR were the Travel Restrictions to the West and the StaSi.
Heck, most didn't even want the GDR to end or reunite with West Germany (who annexed the GDR and destroyed it's industry and administration without acknowledgemet).
The GDR, especially under Honecker, was in many ways more progessive and advanced than any Western Country or even the USSR. The Workers had cheap bread and warm factory meals and were paid fairly, social programs to combat things like unemployement were extensive and heavily invested in by the state, young couples were provided with loans to secure a deacent living and have a decent home, child care and education were extensive and of high quality (still the West is lacking behind in KiTas), ....
Oh, and did I mention near absolute Gender equality and Queer-Decriminalization and acceptance?

Naturally, all these things had to be done away with and demonized when the GDR was gone, with many political parties like the CDU still unable to accept their own mistakes (which they would most definitely call justified actions) during and after the annexation and unwilling to confront what they have done and change (to be expected from Conservatives).
Atleast the SED pretended to care for and be close to the East German people, which can not be said about the CDU and other modern parties, who just blame ever issue arrising from their own negligence, arrogance and corruption on "previous administrations" and "fascist-communists".

As a sidenote: All those who think of Communists and Socialists as nothing more than Fascists are quite literally repeating the Propaganda fostered by modern german conservatives trying to deny their own Fascist Past by picking on the Socialists as a Scapegoat. Those people who seriously belief in this do not understand the concepts of ideologies or how to clasify one, as associations and comparrissons seem more comforting and easy than actual understanding of Politics and Governement.
