Tip for the Wind generator btw for anybody watching / reading - Use your planting zone in the exclusion zone of the wind turbine for double duty - get your crops, and keep trees from growing!

Got to the point to sell my colony and moved five fully borged up and highly skilled colonists that, unfortunately, wouldn't do a lot of low skill labor due to preferences or position. Biggest hurdle on the new map was getting enough labor around to do the menial tasks necessary to prep the new colony site. I whooped for joy when I captured a raider alive, broke their spirit, and set them to work.

Hey quill, have you checked out the "work tab" mod? It improves the work tab without cluttering it. You can just expand the tabs if you want to with a button in the corner, into all the different subtasks they are (like construction is build roof, smooth walls, construct buildings, repair, etc)

Really useful for letting multiple people butcher but only one cook, or everyone can repair, uninstall buildings and deliver resources to construction, but only the good builder actually build things.
And you can minimise the tab back to normal but the tweaks you made stay.

It also does some menu tweaks (it says, but i don't know what. Never play without it) and increase the priorities available from 4 to 9.

For some mod recomendations; "Map Preview", and "[FSF] Complex Jobs" that brakes up tasks, such as planting vs harvesting, in the work priority.

Labs have 0% wildness, so they'll never lose any training they get, and you could just shoot some safe animal for Crystal to nibble on while you kept the rice for yourself.
Go to bed knowing that man's best friend was murdered by you without cause.

I know there's a mod, vanilla nutrient paste expanded, where if you use the special paste processor it introduces, it automatically consumes the closest thing to expiring first. Not sure about the base dispenser

Not gonna watch this yet (it'll be some road or re-stocking tunes), but a couple notes to remember:

-don't click the red envelope right as soon as it arrives! (or orange, or yellow, or blue) So long as the envelope is there (and it points to someone in an actual location on the map and not on the world map), it will have arrows pointing directly to the person or people in question. If you get a big raid (mech or human) and simply hover over the envelope instead of clicking it, that will bring up arrows that will point to every single person in that raid (with the exception of attacks on multiple fronts; those will merely point to the group as a whole, not every individual). I've noticed in prior games you lose track of everyone easily, and while I know you have the extra zoom to look for them, this should help for the times that you miss those red dots.
-Long-range mineral sites are your friend! Remember that they often have very little in the way of threats (and those threats are usually very very weak), so a simple caravan of 2-3 miners and 1-3 pack animals will almost always suffice.

remember that u take items when u sell colony, but armor, weapon in hands go with you too. at least my last gameplay looked like these half year ago.

watching your old Rimworld videos is what pushed me to build my own PC so I could play it too! After watching this I'm going to have to start another run or six haha! Thanks for the content!

To get a cape for a leader turn on the preferred clothing for capes then set your leader to wear a cape then turn off the preferred clothes before you start
