Family always comes first 💕
ОтветитьThank you so much sharing of the ancient history of Halloween 🎃🎃 I love you so much madam ❤️
ОтветитьBeautiful content Collette. I just love your cosy cottage and garden wonderland. I also love listening to your stories.
Keep well Collette. Sending warm wishes from Perth Western Australia.
I did wonder about the compost loo but was too polite to ask. Totally understand, I have my children and grandchildren visit and have had to think of them first. My compost loo is out in the barn too. 😂 Inspiring and beautiful video as always. Thank you for sharing your precious time and beautiful home.
ОтветитьColette hope all is good. Just wanted to say here, you..your cottage and beautiful Patsy give me so much joy and comfort. May you live a long and healthy life. Take care (Mary)
Ответить👍🙏👏🤗🤗🐕xx
ОтветитьHi Colette, Bealltaine looks so cosy and ready for winter. That table was a bargain. The mushrooms are my favorite. I was brought up in Dunlaoghaire, south Dublin and your story of the holy water made me laugh so much as it reminded me of my own dear Granny. She even had a shrine in her bedroom and went to 8 0’Clock Mass every morning too. Traditions are so important as it brings families and the community together. Best wishes on your Birthday.
ОтветитьI’d do the same for my girls 💕 it’s your loo and your…. business!? Miss Patsy is adorable as always ☺️
ОтветитьColette, when you first told us about your compost toilet, i was fascinated. You seem to be a totally self-sufficient woman. I told many people about your channel. Those were people who had all the conveniences and material things in life but were considering a simple life as self sufficient as possible. Covid caused people to rethink many things n life. Oh, your lovely coffee table and your reference to the children and banging heads. You are very creative so i recall someone having knitted a protector to put around the table just for that reason. Love this season. The colors of trees, etc. are exquisite. Just love how you educate us about traditions. Just beautiful to hold onto old traditions. I keep a bottle of Lourdes holy water by my door and bless myself as i go out. Mom used to bless every room with Holy water. She kept a St. Bridget's cross and sacred heart picture facing door on wall. Slaine.

Colette apparently we have had the warmest winter here in Tasmania. I’m so over it. It’s been a cold winter and spring so much so that bees haven’t been out near enough, can’t open the hive yet, plants late this year and we are just getting above 16 degrees during the day. Argh! Haven’t really got outside into the garden.
I have watched you for so many seasons and I love it. Change is good. Bless. I too am age proofing as just hit 70.
Hi Collette I’ve been following your channel now for about six or seven years and it never fails to amaze me how you have, through years of hard work, enabled the most beautiful woodland to flourish from land that was used and abused. I had no idea that a fuchsia bush could grow that big.
I always find it sad that some folks on these platforms feel the need to make, as we say here in Scotland, sleeket comments and try to pass them off as observations!! It must have been a wonderful Samhain for you and your family. Blessings to you all ❤
Your hair is very pretty. I like seeing the inside of the cottage as well as the woodland and Patsy. It’s all beautiful.
ОтветитьI love listening to you, I can hear it in my soul, thank you
ОтветитьThank you for such a beautiful and sensitive explanation of your compost loo situation Colette. As many have said, its truly none of our business, but having followed your journey for so long, I'm sure many, like me, were interested in the change. Apologies if you felt it was intrusive, personally I just love you talking about compooost so I'm glad its still going strong outside! ❤
Ответить🐞Hello again Colette. Thank you so much for sharing your decision to reconnect your toilet for your family and future needs. I would have done the same thing for my family and for my future needs! You know, some of the comments here seem to feel that asking you about where the composting toilet went was somehow rude and imposing. I was sitting here thinking that I didn't get the impression that the question was nothing more than an innocent inquiry that was not intended to be a judgment on your decision at all. Some commenters attacked those who asked about the new toilet, seeming to think that it was ill mannered and intended to pry into your personal stuff to perhaps criticize? I don't know. But if you had felt that, then I am sure that you would have said so, or simply ignored the question, no? I know that I am so curious about the adaptions you have made and so enthralled with how you have created, because I find it very inspirational in my own life. Again, thank you for sharing your little piece of Heaven on Earth, and continued blessings to you and Patsy in your journey's here...xx
ОтветитьYour cottage and woodland look wonderful all preparing for the winter season. I just love the way nature just does its own thing and prepares the ground for the regrowth in the spring by replenishing the soil with the falling leaves. I read somewhere ( many years ago) that the trees actually talk to each other via the Mitochondria and so can send messages "down the line" so to speak.
ОтветитьI would love to watch videos all about your grandmother and her antics! 🍀
ОтветитьI hate what America has done the halloween, yes I did know.. all the plastic and revolting nasty fake webs that kill our wildlife and birds now in Australia its just started here now. Its utterly awful! there's no culture or history in it, its just grouse ugly images, costumes & chemical sweets. Its a sad statement of our culture and our society in the west total lack of meaning and frivolous meaningless folly.

ОтветитьHappy Birthday… I hope you had a lovely day… and the year is kind to you…
I was born in July, but my favorite season is autumn… and spring… I enjoy the late summer into December… being special. I love the coolness in the air… and the leaves changing colors… the harvest time… I find it very soothing. Patsy looks so comfortable in her bed… she is a cutie. Take care and enjoy the season… and your home looks lovely and comfortable… sending Peace…🌜🌞🌛🌎🕊️
re-watching here this morning, after experiencing several communication outages yesterday. You're an example of making careful decisions in your life; what a grand example of your concern for others. And here's a comment about the amazing regeneration of mushrooms on your land; I'm seeing this also. And here's a treat from Mother Earth in this storm ravaged area---we are blessed with an abundance of Chicken-of-the-Woods mushrooms. I'm cooking them up for a hearty breakfast.
ОтветитьPlease share some quick vegan meal ideas and substitutes for milk. Ty
ОтветитьLove you Colette, whatever you need to do for yourself, do it, there will always be people that judge…❤
ОтветитьCollette, I dearly love seeing your beautiful home and surrounding gardens and woods. Your soothing, calming voice is always so very nice. As a mother and grandmother I completely understand your explanation of the change in your loo. I have to admit I wondered about it as I watched the last video. You said it well, as women we are good at compromising for the ones we love. Please continue to share your life with us and thank you!
ОтветитьThat is what we do.😂 So agree. Trying to freshen up our home.❤
ОтветитьI am so proud of you and all that YOU have created. 2bathrooms is a really good idea. It's also good for you to be as comfortabe as possible. I love your new stove! OMG! I love you Colette.
ОтветитьToday I have to replace my license plate on my car and go vote! I have cancelled everything else. I just turned 70 on the 28th. It is my very favortie time of year. Blessings.
ОтветитьIn my later years I realize that a Wise Woman never has to explain anything to anyone any longer. Thank you for your lovely posts. Love from Texas❤
ОтветитьYes I try to plan for my family also.
ОтветитьAging in place. I love everything you’ve done.
ОтветитьBirthday blessings dear Collette, how rude to question your choices, inspiring me as always xxx
ОтветитьBlessings be 💞

ОтветитьHi collett just wanted to say happy birthday, I really love your videos, your we living is looking so cosy I love this time of year and the beautiful trees and the colours are amazing. You are a hard worker I love nature so your videos suit me. Your hair is lovely my birthday is this beautiful month as well. Love your cushions and coffee table. Take care collett. Luv kxx
ОтветитьYou letting us into your life is a beautiful thing, and no one should be making rude or judgemental comments about your choices.
Future proofing our homes is something EVERYONE should give a thought to, sooner rather than later. When my husband and I bought our farm, I insisted on a home that had good first floor living/ bathroom options, for when we could no longer handle the stairs. He thought I was being a bit silly, being an extremely healthy 39 year old, but went along with it. 😂
One thought that might not be popular... I see so many comments from people talking about compromising for their families, even in retirement... and while that is an absolute must for the child rearing years, I would say that once those children hit 18, it's your time to design and build life as YOU want it. My mother sacrificed EVERYTHING raising her kids... now that she's in her 60s, I want her to live the life of HER dreams. Unless it has to do with health and safety, MY wants and needs, nor those of the grandkids, should come before hers when it comes to how she lives her life. It's finally her time to put herself first.
I understand Colette, hear you loud and clear. When family come to visit we want the precious time we have together isn’t focusing on way we live and how they wish were different.
ОтветитьYour house looks great and so do you lots of love keep doing things that makes you happy x
ОтветитьHi Colette, where did you buy your bed?
ОтветитьYou have been and continue to be such an inspiration! Thank you! (and cutie pie Patsy!)❤❤❤
ОтветитьI remember growing up, we had a wooden toilet in a shed in the garden, very primitive and not very welcoming at all on a frosty night. In fact my little cottage still has the shed or "Bumby" as it was called at the bottom of the garden. Never had a flush until I was in my teens and even then it was outside. How things have progressed, but they were happy times unlike the present.
Blessings Colette for bringing us some normality and sharing your beautiful cottage and woodland and of course sweet little Patsy ❤❤
❤love your decorating. The air in the Fall is amazing. So much to do before winter.
ОтветитьA lovely philosophy of compromise and inclusion.
ОтветитьAww..Patsy sure loves you ! You are so right about what mothers will do..😉 Being in northern Wisconsin, USA, a bit jealous of your mild winters.. not gonna lie 😊
ОтветитьHonestly, Colette; some people are so up your bum 😂
However, I do draw the line at, downsizing from a double bed to a single. A girl has to have standards 😅😅😅
The loo situation sounds like a good, workable compromise.
ОтветитьWhat an incredible courageous and lovely woman you are Colette.
ОтветитьWhy not move the compost Loo,,. No big deal having a flush one inside ,, keep the family happy ,,,,💚as we get older ,,,,best to enjoy ,, I find , I get puffed even walking in the garden , so appreciate the garden ,,,,nature is magical ,,
