Philip, I can't wait for your video on the new Montage M8x . . . I wanna sell my Montage 8 and buy the Montage M8x . . . but, the reason I want to sell my Montage 8 is cause it's heavy. I had the MODX but I wanted the sound of the Montage 8 so I bought it. wow, I can't wait to hear you play the Montage M8x . . .

Phenomenal demo and playing of an excellent instrument. I really wanted to own a M8dx6+but the crappy plasticky keyboard action for the relatively high price in Australia turned me off. I went for a Korg Kross 2 at half the price that also has a crappy plasticky keyboard action but I can stomach it at half the price.

Is the smooth sound transition something new added the MODX+? The old MODX doesn't do that.

As usual the Yamaha workstation sounds thin as shit.. Thin, e.g. listen to the synth sounds, they sound anorexic, probably bc they sampled softsynths for the rom 🤐

It seems never did Yamaha sample real-world analog hardware for that rom. Maybe the next workstation, who knows, but yeah for the synth sounds the Roland JP8080 & the Behringer Pro 1 would be a good start.

I use my vintage Roland A80 to control my MODX6+, love the sounds ... but still miss some performance patches of MO6 that I sold ... 🙂

Does the Modx+ have a sequencer like the older Motif ? I.e. is it a workstation or a synth that still requires a DAW ?

I like the modern look. Nice choice of color for the logo against the matte blk. The layout and features on the front panel look pretty slick.

Yamaha always disappoints me over and over. The sound may be pretty good but 1 to 2 gigs of sampling? Are you kidding me? You can buy a 64 gig USB drive for under $30. If not less they couldn’t put 64 gigs of Sample memory in an expensive keyboard? Bad move, I’m getting the AKAI MPC key 61 or the Roland Fantom

Sir can import a sample on modx plus because I need for 4 reasons
First reason one for live orchestral performance program and second reason for studio recording and 3 reason how many own samples and library s can I improt on modx plus and 4 reason it's fast loading keyboard because I saw korg Kronos it has 9 engine and loading was too slow can't use on live orchestral program can modx plus beat this korg Kronos and natulis

"Yamaha was popularized heavily in the 80s with the DX7 ... they have increased the polyphony on all of them to 128 which is the same thing you get in the Montage. That's significant because you're closer and closer to that vintage sound" Actually you are moving away from "that vintage sound" since the DX-7 has 16x polyphony.
