I'm very confused. I generally consider you one of One Piece's biggest fans and closest followers, so it baffles me that you refer to Yamato with "they/them" pronouns when it's very clear in both the manga and anime what his pronouns are. Yamato is not nonbinary, Yamato is Kaido's SON. His pronouns are used over and over again, it's no mystery.

I always assumed that orochi had a hydra devil fruit. Before, all his “deaths” were by decapitation, and he actually did die when he was burned, which is how you actually kill a hydra. But I guess that’s a Greek thing and doesn’t really fit with the japan style

The scenes after timeskip are way draggy and cannot focus on one scene without constantly cutting off esp Wano Arc. Just Momo's face reveal on episode 1078 had to cutoff to a commercial and him rambling on that went into a backstory for at least 15 min.

Wano has terrible amount of dumb filler exposition. Before Odin, it had the most boring dialog in One Pice.

Wano is our world's South Africa. It's literally also got the upside-down shape of ZA too. Diverse cultures. Rainbow type nation. If One Piece turns out to be the metaphorical timeline of our own world i.e. each island represents a timeline section of our history, then we need to pay close attention the Future Egghead Island Arc and beyond, because it will show us the way forward to our own utopian future. Hiyori was an incredibly disappointing character for me, she had a cool entrance and story that the more I knew about the more I thought would end in something great like her finally taking revenge on Orochi but nope, all she ended up being was a waste of time.

I understand why Yamato didn’t sail with Luffy. They’ve been locked away on onigashima and should get a chance to themself before setting sail. Also it may be me, i never assumed Yamato would join them. I don’t assume someone will join the crew until Luffy asks or says so himself.

For Kanjuro, at least the way i read it, was that he was… a thing. He was made, or a creature brought into fill the role and not an actual member of the family. So the ‘sudden fire monster’ didn’t surprise me

I assumed Nika and Joyboy were the same person. If Luffy’s fruit is Hito Hito no Mi: model Nika and Zunesha called him Joyboy, that implies they’re the same to me. I may be full of it though.

The one thing I hate in Wano is that when luffy unlocks Gear 5 he just loses humanity he just laughs at everything and all of the Beautiful Animation just turned into a Tom and Jerry ep. I hope that Luffy doesn't just laugh at everything while using Gear 5

I feel like there were 5 acts but oda didn't tell us after act three so we would loss interest thinking its act 5 now so we know this will be the climax

On the brink of death, his fruit awoke and he became art.

Although not a zoan, it's not breaking any confirmed rules and Luffy basically does the same thing later in the arc.

If I'm stupid or tasteless for liking the amnesia plotline, then call me captain dumbass. Big Mom had her moment in WCI, and I was glad to see a different side of her after over a year of that.

Also, managing her made Usopp, Nami, and Tama's journey through the castle interesting until it was time to get out.

Also, Luffy didn't beat her but gave the platform to Law and that other guy.

Also it let Perrosperro be there to get closure for Pedro, ending that storyline while we still cared about it.

Overall, I was very happy with it, because it felt fresh and interesting, and that's what counts.

I hope for One Piece or any other anime to ever do an arc/saga as grand as Wano after this. It is like the biggest slap in the face to anime only watchers.
The pacing is painfully slow apart from a couple times where it happened more things in 10 minutes than what happened in the previous 10-15 episodes.
The whole arc/saga of Wano contains less than a combined 4 episodes worth of cool fight scenes. Half of it the screentime is being Gear 5 itself.
I'm now sad that to probably get anywhere in the story of One Piece i now am going to take another couple year long brake from watching, hoping for each episode containing less than ~17 minutes of reused scenes.

At some point the Story will have to end.

Dog, monkey and pheasant...he mentions Yamato, Luffy, and Marco. My thought is: Yamato has a wolf fruit, Luffy the Sun God fruit, and Marco the pheonix fruit. However, the original admirals were depicted as a dog, monkey and pheasant, right?

I wonder if Momo might bring the admirals together? Or maybe Luffy is supposed to represent the character in the story?

Worse than the big mom amnesia was promethus (a literal ball of fire) was able to dive so deep in an ocean and save big mom...the sweatiness of oda to try to pull that no way sir. That was terrible and among other moments the oni poison bullets granted it gave chopper a segment but omg the stalling on the main fight F. Oda really needs to stop plot stalling.

Orochi is the worst written and pointless character ever in one piece. I mean any minion from kaido would've done a better job than him so I don't know why is he not replaced and respected by Kaido

I watched this video analysis and it provided some really intriguing insights. It's been bothering me, and maybe it's a minor thing, but I can't help but wonder about it. The thing is that Luffy, after his awakening, somehow turns Kaido into rubber. This is puzzling, considering that Kaido is shrouded in that formidable Haki. According to conventional wisdom, Haki should nullify Devil Fruit abilities, so how did Luffy manage to pull off this feat? Even Law couldn't use his Devil Fruit power to move Kaido, presumably because of the same Haki shield. It's a real head-scratcher and I'd love to hear your thoughts on it!

I love Wano. But, I feel like Apoo needs to suffer more than Hawkins. Also, I feel like Marco got Nerfed. Like, He's the first division commander of the White Beard pirates and a PHOENIX and he wasn't even able to beat Queen. Yeah, he did a lot, but nothing big. I know, since Zoro will beat King and Sanji will beat Queen but I honestly expected Marco to at the very least take down Queen(or both) or he should've arrived late or something. I know he's not the main cast but I really expected more from him.

For me, it just felt so dragged. The fights didn't need to be that long man. Jeez. There was less plot and more fights and I feel like Shonen series should have a healthy balamce between the two. More the plot the better.

Too long. I get his style. I get that he doesn't like to kill people straight up. But this is getting ridiculous. The guy named "queen" in particular is a joke. He gets in no less than FIVE drawn-out fights. He gets beaten multiple times, but they never finish him off so he keeps coming back with new gimmicks making this arc uselessly long.
I get it, you want to give everyone their moment to shine. But just squash his head when you are finished and be done with it.
