What a great video. This was the first video that popped up after searching "Super computer running davinci resolve" and I am very pleased with this video. You let us know what you were gonna do and then jumped straight into it with some real-life examples. I greatly appreciate your work my friend. This answered all of my questions and then some. Cheers!

With the BMPCC4K with Davinci Resolve 16: Do I have to have a rtx graphics card? Would a 2.6GHz i7 laptop with an integrated card work at all?

Aside from audio and since this is supposed to be a video...everything that you show is useless it's so small and you're moving the curser around as if your in a video game instead of an instructional video...reminds me of the worst Professors' that when the class ended all the students in the hallway were all cursing about how bad of an instructor the professor is/was.
Either fix the zoom or just do audio pod casts over ham radio...

A great video
But I have got a question...
I have got a PC with a 2700X (8 Core , 3,7 GHz) and a RTX 2060
...
What would bring a better Performence?
Change the CPU to a 3900X (12C , 3,8 GHz) or put a RTX 2080-Ti in it?

Been craving having the HP Spectre X360 as a portable machine, yet, I don't know if it will be enough for light editing/ usage in Davinci.
It has i7 10th Gen 1650G7 + 16GB Ram + Intel Iris integrated graphics [which i understood works with Davinci] + NVME 1TB SSD [970 EVO].
Any assumption if working on 1080p -2K timelines would be relatively smooth?
Will 4K be workable viewing in lower quality/ or using proxies?

Why does a normal zoom-in on a still image in Davinci takes so much resources?
I feel like in Premiere it would not stutter like that, doing the same effect. Am I missing something here?

I've been using my AMD Ryzen/Sapphire 5500 build with DR 16 for a few months now. The CPU is the bottom of the line Ryzen 3 and the Sapphire 5500 is the entry level chipset graphics card. The board is a Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite. The drives are all Samsung 970 EVO Plus.

This is the first Windows machine I've ever owned (I have looks around 3 iMacs, 2 MBPs, and 2 MB airs). The last MSFT OS I actually owned was DOS 3.3X.

At first the new build didn't seem to outperform the stock MacBook Pros. And it crashed/locked up frequently. But having two large monitors was a plus as was the DR keyboard. After a few weeks of leaving it on 24/7 and letting Gigabyte and AMD tweak their drivers at night, it's doing quite nicely and now is not buggy at all. With the updates, it certainly outperforms the stock MBP at this point.

There are several places to change default settings in DR. Making sure all the preferences and default settings match your hardware and workflow will take time and several iterations but makes all the difference in the world.

I may upgrade the CPU at some point and add a more powerful graphics card, but so far, it does what I need it to do.

Hello, John I’m trying to get a quicker workflow and turn around time for rendering and exporting my Canon 80d footage and Blackmagic 4K footage in a 3840 x 2160 UHD timeline for a 30 min short film with color grading, noise reduction, and film grain applied. It took my computer 12 hours to complete the render and export. Can you help me if there is a better solution?

I’m currently using a 2017 iMac with a 4.2Ghz Quad-Core intel core i7 with 40GB 2400 MHz DDR4 Ram, 512 SSD, and a Radeon Pro 580 8GB graphics card.

Are there any trust worthy reports on which GPUs are best. Davincis recommendations in there config guide are different than some reports. I've seen reports that the rtx 2080ti is the cats meow but devinci doesn't recommend as there top GPU. Great channel just found you.

I'm looking into purchasing the Studio license (noise reduction, Speed warp, Open fx), and potentially a new GPU but I was wondering if it utilizes the GPU any more efficiently then the free edition. My experience with DR 16 right now, with optimized media, an i7 8700, 64 GB ram and 1060 3GB, is that the GPU is barely touched in the workflow. The software gradually works through those red bars [optical flow, color grade, tec], but the CPU 25-60% and the GPU float ~10-25%. I'm not concerned with final render, only the "adjustment renders" or noise reduction in the future. Is it worth upgrading the GPU or is this a software issue with the current setup?

Hello! I found you because I have had the same issues which you were demonstrating! I have serious slowdowns when adding simple effects like dragging in a sinkin' Title. On the Fusion page it drags and when I switch back to edit It is so slow that I cant even confirm its what I created in the preview window because it is so far behind! Frustrating and Im really new at this. I am running an i7-7700k w/8cores @4.2Ghz and 16Gigs of RAM and a 1080GT graphics card. Where is my bottle neck please? Or is there some setting I can click off? There used to be some "Dont render..." during edit button to check but I cant find it on DR16. Any help would be appreciated!

Hi, I have a 2400g without any discrete gpu as of now. What would be a good video editing software to run 'decently' with this config for 1080p videos ( I don't necessarily need lightning fast speeds). Getting to do some colour grading and some special effects would be enough for me. I like DaVinci Resolve the most but as it is shown in your video, it's not the way to go with this current config. I've done some research on Shotcut, Kdenlive and similar opensource video editing softwares. An expert advice is something I need now.

Thanks in advance.

So I don't really have experience editing on DaVinci Resolve, I edit on Adobe Premiere. I'm doing some research for my friend who's trying to build a new budget PC that can game and editing 4K footage on Davinci. Been reading that Davinci is more GPU dependent than the CPU, is this correct? He was looking at a 9700K CPU, but I told him if he's on a budget, then a 2700X would serve him better. He gets SMT with it at a much lower price too. The only other question is, which mid-range GPU is best for 4K rendering with this software paired with a 2700X?

is this the free or the studio version of Davinci Resolve?
the free version sucks with h.264/5 because it uses the Windows internal encoder for encoding, the integrated encoder in the studio version is WAY better
