Ryzen 5 2600 vs Ryzen 5 5600X + RTX 3070 | Test in 8 Games | 1080p - 1440p

So in 2k 4k gaming there is no difference, I'll continue to use my 2600.

I have this combo right now and let me tell you. some games you are fine with the 2600 at 1440p but I am finding that cod titles are pretty bottlenecked by the cpu. I was playing cold war on ultra settings/rtx off/ dlss quality, I was getting around 100 fps. the GPU utilization was below 80%. im pretty sure if he benchmarked more COD titles we will see the bottlenecks like cod warzone. I mainly play apex though and it is not bottlenecked in that game.

As someone who plays non competitive AAA titles at 60fps locked, I'm happy with my 100€ Ryzen 5 2600. It was such a bargain. You just have to know from the start what gaming PC are you building!

Use in RDR2 DX12 instead of Vulkan and you see the game uses multicore in CPU!

Thank god this video exists. I don't think it's worth the upgrade as I'll be playing in 2k which doesn't seem to benefit much from the higher clock speed compared to 1080p which is quiet a big margin. I'll wait for AM5 cpu's to release before I swap everything out.

Cyberpunk, RDR2, Horizen and AC appear to be GPU bound at 1440p... which I don't believe for a RTX 3070!

Its true what they said that beyond 1080P, the GPU is the boss, specially in 4k. As I use my 4K tv to game, it won't matter that much the upgrade on CPU so I'll stick to my R5 2600 and upgrade the GPU

I think an upgrade is not worth it, because I mostly play at 1440p or 4k with a 6700xt.

I'll just get the CPU for now and wait till when I can upgrade my gpu in the future to a 3070 when they aren't easily out of stock. I have a 1070 Fe so it'll bottleneck but not a crazy amount and it'll boost my fps in certain games I play so can't wait to do some benchmarks with it

I am still torn between a good cpu for streaming and gaming on the same rig.

Currently I have a

Ryzen 2600 @ 3.9 GHz
Red Devil 5700
32GB G.Skill TridentZ RGB 3200 Mhz
MSI x470Gaming Pro
Seasonic Focus 650W PSU

I stream and game on the same rig at 1080p... but the game I play looks kind of crappy when I am outside in the foliage or grass. I found that if I encode with the CPU it looks really good but I can feel the stress and lag created by multitasking the CPU... It gets bad sometimes. If I encode with the GPU it looks crappy since it's AMD, but the performance isn't really diminished that much... it's almost unnoticeable. Now my thoughts all come down to best price for performance. I am torn between the Ryzen 3700x since it has more cores for $380 USD or the Ryzen 5 5600x for $420 USD... It's more pricey but the performance looks good, plus if I am only getting a tiny bit of performance hit on my 2600, by theory upgrading to the 5600X should get rid of the majority of the performance decrease and smooth out my gameplay and then I can focus on getting a newer GPU down the road... So my question again, is which would be better for gaming and streaming at the same time... The 3700x or the 5600x if encoding on either the GPU or CPU?

Of course the ryzen 5600 will beat the 2600, but hey, the 2600 can handle quiet good with all games. And we have to say, it´s working with an RTX 3070 and in my case, my GPU is much slower then this one, so probably the 2600 is more then enough for my GPU. For an low budget PC is highly recomended. In my country it cost like 160€ (even less) and the 5600 cost arround 350€ and at least for me it´s a big difference. I probably would invest that 190€ in a better GPU and the difference would be probably bigger.

Two more days before my 5600x gets delivered. Upgrading from a 2600 combined with 3070. Hoping this will keep my VR game above 90 fps all the time.
