Porcupines: Prickly prehistoric wanderers in our backyard | Texas Backyard Wildlife

Porcupines are rare in these here parts (as they say in TX). We're always excited to see one, but we worry, too. The other critters (yes, raccoons, we're talking to you) are curious about them and sometimes get too close. Get too close to a porcupine and you can wind up with a face full of quills. No joke.

This video is a compilation of various porcupine clips our cameras have picked up over the past couple of years. Dan says he thinks porcupines are like a cross between a sloth and a prickly pear. Sounds about right to me.
