Kind Sir...Bibles come from untold numbers, places and writers, etc. It takes a very long time and research; to really answer "What is the Bible" * "Where Came from & What's in it"

First; many do NOT use the word "Bible". Even though it has all Hebrew writers in the OT. For they say "Torahs", and other Hebrew words. Some say "Quaran" in Islamic words. Etc. etc and ETC!

So, the first full Bible (that was free to read) was published by England Translators in, 1611 AD. Driven by King James Version ("Original") with 80 books: 39 OT, 14 Apocrypha and 27 NT. That lasted for 274 yrs; until 1885 AD KJV ("Authorized') came out.

But, there is a third KJV Bible; called the New King James Version, in 1982 AD with 66 books, NKJV. It corrected untold pure Accuracy words and verses. Oh yes. And they changed over one million words; from true English to the "Elizabethen the 1st" words. Like "You vs Ye", "Among vs Amongst" and "You vs Thy or Thine, etc! Because...

Those Poetic and Romantic words; should never have been there. Sad for sure. But that Queen, in the 1500's AD; demanded it to be! And King James demanded them too; when she died. May Jesus have mercy...

And there is 2 bibles, that are said, "THE most accurate Translated EVER" (NASB) "word by word" in 1971 AD. And (NIV) "phrase by phrase" in 1973 AD. But to get to English; it takes Hebrew translated, and Aramaic, and Greek, and Latin and Manuscripts and to English.

Any wise Bible Scholars will say, "There is NO way to keep it accurate when translated from one language to another. Not to mention 6 translations. Thus, the best way to get, the Truth from Jesus; is to first close your Bible; and pray often to Jesus; asking Him for THE truths. And not satan's LIES! Which are from Gen to Rev. Sad but OH so True!

Then open your bibles and let the Holy Spirit; direct you around satan's "Fools-Gold LIES; and go to Jesus' Pure Golden Truths. And if you want to know all the above; there is a Great company of English Bibles. ("GreatSite.C..")

It has many pages, but VERY good. Please view and read it. It's the best I've ever read about Bibles; from even God's 10 commands in 1,400 BC...

I have been in Christian churches since birth. ( a long time ago) I have participated in all Christian rituals, including, obviously Baptism, Communion, Bible studies, Sunday School, etc. and have listen to literally hundreds of interpretations and exhortations on Biblical meaning. I have seen and heard tremendous cruel judgements made against fellow humans based on an individual’s or group’s personal interpretation of the Bible. There are “Bible” churches which proudly worship all the words of the Bible. No one, or very few people, talk about how the Bible was one culture’s , influenced by the cultures around them, struggle to understand and interpret the concept of a Divine Creator. They lived within their own cultural precepts and biases. They lived within their own struggles to survive against either real, or perceived, enemies and within their goals for power and dominance. It is impossible that those conditions did not influence their perceptions of the Divine. Of course those who seek to acknowledge and connect with a Divine Creator need a guide, I suppose, other than their own conscience, but the Bible has literally become God to most Christians, and that, to me, seems a major flaw in connecting to Divinity, transcending our own human constricting limitations, and moving past innate human biases and weaknesses. We have put up road blocks to God’s influence by claiming God’s love and guidance can only come through that ancient document. We have effectively disallowed any evolving human /Divine movement by saying “ if it ain’t Biblical, it ain’t True.” This seems, to me, the exact opposite of what the human intellect and consciousness was supposed to be. The awakening to consciousness, which the Genesis myth illustrates, demands that our consciousness continues to expand, not be walled in by an ancient doctrine.

I have a question, if I may. How is the canon of Scripture determined and why does the Ethiopian Tewahedo Orthodox Church/Bible have 84 books in it and have since approximately 330AD? Are they wrong? Is only the 66 books correct?

Christians used the Deuterocanon. If nothing else, if you don't accept the Deuterocanon, you don't have God's prophets recorded for the 400 years before Christ. God does not abandon his people.

This whole deuterocanon debate is a shame, especially given that Wisdom 2 has one of the most clear prefigurements of the Passion of Christ.

The Bible is from Mesopotamia. What we would consider the near and middle east. Adapted by Greeks from across the Waters and Rome across the way in Italy. It is meant to be a one size suits all kind of thing. This is the Greek master fullness. To provide imaginative gap fillers or bridges. The Bible condenses all pantheon systems into Good ( God) or Evil ( Devil). The main points after that remain the same. Make the right choice, especially if one can and by doing so help others. That's how we help ourselves. God is Planet Earth, or Nature though . Gender assignment is just human compartmentalization for expression purposes. Look past the Milky Way, that's where our idea of heaven stops. God is out there too.
