Sir why the cochlea needs to transform the sound to electrical energy??

The cochlea isn't as mysterious as once thought. The longer wavelengths travel a longer distance through the cochlea spiral. Shorter wavelengths travel a shorter distance due to attenuation and dissipation of energy in the fluid.

Longer wavelengths, therefore, stimulate more of the cells in the cochlea at the same time. The shorter wavelengths are attenuated as they travel through the fluid in the spiral, so they don't travel as far. Depending on the wavelength, a pattern of nerve cells in the cochlea are stimulated simultaneously. So, a specific frequency will cause specific nerve cells to be activated but not others due to the space between pressure waves.

Pretty simple. :)

P.S. I presume AI systems will one day use a similar system for spatial and temporal discrimination of sound sources inside robots, rather than simply using pressure transducers. It's a much simpler method rather than requiring an array of microphones, using phase differences to discriminate between the direction of the incoming wave.

I think perhaps you have explained what the pinna does incorrectly, as it is not intended to collect sounds, but to induce binaural information so that we can perceive up above sounds, down below, in front and behind sound perceptions, if your explanation was correct, the pinna would probably look like the ears of a cat/horse/deer so that we can collect sounds that way, but the ridges and nooks and parabolic nature of the human ear is shaped in a very particular way so that differential tones of reflections within the ears, depending upon the direction of the sound to the pinna will induce a unique tone that all other directions will not have, so the brain can very simply determine from which direction the sounds are coming from.. The human pinna, or outer ear, is the only organ of the human body where you can actually see how it works, as long as you comprehend the function of the pinna and how sound is modified by it before it goes into the ear canal.

How our ears works? 😳
First there is a outer part pinna which we can touch it is used to collect all the sound waves and send it to the auditory canal which is used as a channel 💕...Next part is ear drum which is a transparent layer. It vibrates from a very small motion. it also separates inner ear from external ear.🧁 Then the middle part of ear comes. In this part there are three tiny bones which are called ossicles. Which vibrates and transfers sound waves to inner ear . It also amplify the sound. Amplification is needed because There is liquid in inner part and it needs to be vibrated at a high pressure. Ossicles can increase 20x in pressure.
The three bones of ossicles are:
First bone: Malleus 😶
Second bone: Incus 🧁
Third bone: Stapes 😜
Next is the inner part of the ear....
Here are semicircles three rings. This helps body to balance. 🤗
A snail shape structure called cochlea. The fluid vibrates in it. Cochlea has special cells which converts sound waves to electrical signals. Unless Sound waves are not converted to electrical signals. They don't reach our brain and we are not able to hear Sound. Then these electrical signals reaches are auditory nerve which helps sound waves to reach the brain and we are able to hear 😁.
Because of Cochlea cells We can hear different sounds. They are sensitive for loudness and frequency and we can also tell when a sound is loud or soft and its frequency is high or low. This is how our ears work 😉
