Those are x bred LGD not a Kangal , most have Anatolian x bred CAS dogs the true Kangal is rare and way different , the head of a Kangal is very unique and way different most people in the North America have no idea what a true Kangal is , nonetheless nice dog

Kangal were bred to protect livestock (They are not personal protection dogs, like a Doberman). All LGD’s (Livestock Guardian Dogs) are bred for this and have hundreds of years of evolution in their pedigree. Their herd and family are always under their watchful eye. They do need training and socialization to help them determine friend from foe, and to aid the owner in managing them. I can’t wait to get one!

There great LGD and I crossed them with anatonial and great prezzene .
There not pets and I don’t handle them much even though I would love to, I have to have them to keep my goats safe

If you don't have a livestock on property, Kangal isn't for you. Kangal isn't pet and it's a service dog for protecting livestock

my Kangal is 25 months old, I raised her from a pup on my farm. showed her the perimeter of the farm, and she stays within it. Super observant, she guards the chickens and livestock 24/7, and takes her job very seriously. Best dog I’ve had…few distractions, so she caught on to her training effortlessly. Great breed for large areas, she will do a patrol of the property line twice daily. I do love my Boo!

The Kangals in Turkey are way bigger and powerful than the ones in US and even these Kangals would kill a pit within minutes and that says how the hell of a strong dog Kangals are.

A good friend of mine has an Anatolian shepherd named Jaeger. She has been doing scent work & tracking/trailing with him for many years. (I'm in the same groups with my Siberian Huskies 😊) Jaeger is excellent in both types of nose work. We always observe how he doesn't waste a single calorie of energy when he's working. He's very deliberate. So it's extra fun when he starts to prance a little after a successful search. My male Siberian, who is not the most confident dog in the world, is terrified of Jaeger. 😅 I think your video is spot on about theses dogs.

My Anatolian has a lot of these traits. people often comment how chill she is. She's a quiet observer until wants to alert me of someone or something encroaching. Like most dogs, she really wants to be a good dog.

Face is friendly. I need a dog with size of a timber wolf, but not looking like mastiff. Kangal is near enough but not furry. Is there any dog what can survive Norwegian winter and big and friendly to kids

I’m a 56 year old lady who owns a Kangel. She is 6 years old and I love watching these videos bc they are exactly like she is. I do live alone so I always have a big dog for protection and warning and this is my first time having one and I will always have one. She’s amazing. I love this breed and respect this breed so much. I really can appreciate them for who they are. She’s very special to me. Thank you for these great videos

Caucasian Shepherd, Great Pyrenees, and Kangal are the top 3 LGB that can protect you from just about anything. My 2 year 3 month old son has a 9 month old, 110 pound Great Pyrenees puppy we got him for last Christmas. He's the best bodyguard u could ask for

Even the mightiest dogs are treated as show dogs in US. Kangals have to move and roam freely as their nature is based on protecting flocks. The american people don't know how to handle livestock protectors. That's why i srtongly oppose the sale of original Kangal dogs from Turkey to US.

We are considering a livestock dog that has a longer live span and is patience with young children.

I like your comment about "meeting in the middle". That is dead on correct with this breed. An owner of a Kangal needs to be the leader, but respect the dog. It is a very fine line. Too much direction and you will lose the dog, too little and the dog will take over. I like to think of myself as my Kangal's manager. I get the final say, but there is often negotiation as to how things are done.

I love the time you spend with your kids, how you include them in what you do, how you talk to them, and how you teach them by example to be good and appreciative of animals and nature in general.

I have a female Kangal and she is far less patient with pesky male dogs than your girl.

Her disposition is fantastic, I really dig how detached she is yet doing everything on the obstacle course almost as in passing and I really like the ears left intact.
America is lagging behind on abandoning the custom of docking ears and tail.

I have experience growing up with bird dogs, bird dog pups, quail hunting, and an indoor Golden. We plan to buy a chunk of land soon in retirement so that's covered. My question is will these dogs be comfortable inside at night? Will they cuddle? Sleep with you? Is there a possibility they can be a part time emotional service dog and still spend lots of time outside? Please answer I'm sincere. I love these dogs but wonder where a 5'4" 60 year old woman, very athletic and healthy with a 6' husband will end up in the pack. Please answer I'm sincere.

WHAT A LOAD OF NONSENSE. I have owned Kangals for 17 years and they do not require the training you are giving them. Kangal dogs need wide open spaces that they consider are their own territory. They are natural guardians of their property and any people or animals on it. They do not need to be trained to do this. They do best as a combination depending on the size of the property. I have 11.5 acres and I have 1 male and 2 females. They like several areas of high ground to observe their domain. Never run a Kangal around an obstacle course as it is pointless. This is not an agility dog it’s a guardian so why bother? Silly video.

Excellent information, I have a 7 acre paddock the goats are in, I was wondering if I got one will it stay inside a 1200mm high dog Proof fence with the goats or will it just jump the fences and guard a larger area and take the neighbours stock on as its own as well?
