The easy give away on the iPhone was the lens flair, and over sharpened look.
ОтветитьMan at this point if i had to answer right to save my life id probably die. Other than the depth of field, i would've never guessed...
ОтветитьIndeed, the quality is good, as long as we stay at the equivalent of 24mm and 24 frames per second, anything beyond that and the problems begin.
ОтветитьI could tell the shallow depth of field difference in the closer focusing shots. But wow, those were super close.
ОтветитьThe oversharp look of the phone gave it away (also stab). Can’t the sharpness be tuned down in camera? There should be some advanced features, especially in the pro max!!
Ответить😮
Ответитьhow do you use the external ssd with iphone?
ОтветитьHonestly could see the difference within the first four seconds of the video. While ProRes LOG helps a lot, there's still way too much digital processing going on for the image to have the natural feel a real camera has. Once the other footage was seen later in the video it was exponentially more obvious because of the depth of field difference between the two. Still, this is definitely a lot more serviceable than phone footage has ever been for certain applications
Ответитьi was searching for a valid usbc splitte for iPhone 15 Pro (ssd and micropbone). Do u have any suggestion? Thabks for your great videos!
ОтветитьHow much Did you adjusted the exposure on the iPhone during this recording?
ОтветитьNot looking for which was which I actually preferred B
ОтветитьMy concern with the fx30 is the not as effective stabilization as iPhone. iPhone, though not having the features of a full frame sensor, has done a great job making shots seem gimbalized. Fx30 still seems shaky with stabilization on compared to iPhone. Do you also feel this way?
ОтветитьAll GH users can already record nice open gate options already.
ОтветитьNot only the bokeh, the iPhone has the ridiculous image stabilisation. Vertical video is consumed on phone screens so it really doesn’t matter what you use to record.
Ответитьamazing channel
Ответитьiphone photo or video is still in green tone..
Ответитьit's quite obvious that the sony's footage have quite more shallow depth of field... but apart from tha i couldn't really find that much of a different between those two when they are graded the same way as each other... so i say the iphone 15 is very promising... in terms of future filmaking?
Ответитьfor content like insta [reels] iPhone make sense with that log option. camera are always better but then - camera + extra batteries + tons of lenses + nd filters + big heavy gimbals and what not .. i regretted carrying all that heavy bag while my hiking trip to Georgia. so i sold my ZVE-10 and now waiting Pixel 8Pro to drop and lets see how it compares with 15pro - then i will surely turn my workflow towards smartphone. thank you for amazing content.
Ответитьhi i love your video.
btw can i know what is your phone clamp?
Loved the video! 👍🏻
ОтветитьThat is impressive. The iPhone 15 Pro can be a good companion to a point and shoot camera.
ОтветитьAbsolutely NO ONE but some pros could see the difference!
ОтветитьI think if anything this video showcases Sony's stubborness to add features people want like open gate. Open gate on my camera has made jobs so much easier when clients want vertical and horizontal footage.
ОтветитьDoes the Pro Res Log feature only come with iPhone 15 Pro and above and not the regular iPhone 15?
ОтветитьWow, almost no difference. Selling my fx30 for new Iphone. Whole process to create videos will be faster and client can’t see the difference
ОтветитьGreat video as always.
Next time you do a tour video with Gerald maybe convince him to do it on the iphone. It might struggle a bit in the dark corners but other than that I could imagine it working pretty well.
can we record slow motion 1080p 120fps in ProgRess Log
ОтветитьI could see the difference before you graded the footage but do not think I would be able to if you had only shown the graded footage
ОтветитьLove love love your perspective and insight in this video. For all practical purposes the iPhone looked equally as good with respect to color and exposure. The background boka was still much better on the Sony FX video (which was how I could tell the difference in the pic comparisons)
ОтветитьI do not consume a video, I watch it.
ОтветитьTotally agree with you camera is always better it special in lowlight but iPhone is better when it comes to compact or creating unique perspectives. I finally can combine my Sony A1 footage with the IPhone 15 pro max and grade it very identical. Mind blowing. Thanks also for the underexposing tip in another video. Keep rocking bro 😎
ОтветитьAll we need now is for Filmic Pro & Blackmagic Cam App to put ACE Log into their Apps & we’re SET… because I don’t give a flying F@!* into a rolling donut what Apple says - their default Cam App sucks at everything. The only reason I work with 14 & 15 Pro Max’s is THE CHIP & it’s ergonomics - it’s a powerful tool with the right APPS - in your pocket. Try doing that with a Sony FX 3 & a pelican full of cine primes & add ons BS. Forget it.
ОтветитьWhat accessory is that for mounting iPhone on to the Fx30. I have both devices too
ОтветитьThese kind of videos that need to be rewatched over and over again
Great Job 👏
it's incredible that we got to the point of doubting which camera is which between a smartphone and a fill camera? incredible
Ответитьoh man! this phone is totally insane!😅🔥 the best and the most powerful phone this year
ОтветитьAs someone who owned a Sony camera it was the awful stab that gave it away for me lol. Colors look great on both though
ОтветитьThe main thing that gave the 15 Pro away was the DoF. The FX-30 had a stronger DoF compared to the 15 Pro. Both look really good though.
ОтветитьPatrick hell of a video as usual. I think I was looking for issues and thought I spotted noise in Camera A. I likely was wrong and again just looking for a difference. They both look amazing.
ОтветитьI think using an iPhone as B-Cam may finally be a viable option. You could probably attach an external ND for closer motion blur and exposure to a larger more expensive camera. The Max could be a great option for filming long form events like wedding ceremonies with that 5x 120mm zoom attached to an external SSD. Use a dedicated camera on a gimbal for those money shots.
ОтветитьThe softness on Sony is better. Maybe if you lower the contrast you can barely see the difference!? 🤔
Ответитьplease tell us how do you grade it?) colours look so cinematic
ОтветитьYou can immediately recognize the iPhone whey you see flares while shooting against the sun or any other light sources :) Besides that the quality of both is superb.
ОтветитьIf it wasn’t for the lens flare on the iPhone I wouldn’t be able to tell these apart
ОтветитьYour face is totally under- lit next to the bright background with the lamp. Isn't this a no- go?
ОтветитьDude that was a cool test. 100% never going to use a phone for horizontal/client work(I get it though).
I see what you’re saying talking with clients and tell them vertical=iphone.
Especially since they are posting it on platforms that reduced it to less than ideal. Great job dude!
Another great video man. Thank you..
