Hi Eric, when choosing hardness of mold what are things to consider? Would higher hardness yield better surface finish (at the expensive of flexibility for demold)?
ОтветитьQuick question, could you use plaster as the third layer? Wouldn’t this save money and keep the thickness in tact?

ОтветитьI've never seen so much silicone mixed up before. At least not all at once 😂
ОтветитьHello, nice video.Whats the blue liquid?thank you.
ОтветитьI have a quick question how can I make a foam design to resin? Is there a material that I need to cover the foam to create a mold then use the mold to use resin casting? I have a design but a foam is very breakable. I don't know how to make my foam resistance resin heat because the chemicals combine with resin A and B reaction creates heat and it seems that heat will melt the foam so I want to ask how to do it if is possible. Thanks waiting on your response.
Ответитьhow much does that silicone cost for 20 kg? and where to get it?
ОтветитьМолодцом!
ОтветитьHi, I have a similar mold, only I have the problem that the silicone rubber drops in the center and therefore there is practically little resin, and the piece is thinner. how could I solve it
ОтветитьWhat a great video… well done, great tutorial. Definitely helps me do the with the stuff I want to do.
Cheers. 🤘
I wish you had a whole class on this. Lots of the terms you used were Greek to me :) this looks so fun to learn!
ОтветитьWhat silicone are you using today.. I think in another video you mentioned 40A. all I can find in bigger quantities on amazon is 20A or 30A.
I want to make a 24"x24"x2" medallion and would like the mold to be frameless if possible. I think the 30A would bow out too far based on a hardness chart I found.
Thank you for this tutorial, this is so helpful! I was just wondering if you can you use isoprepinol to treat the wood instead of shellac? Thanks so much!
ОтветитьAmazing Eric. I hope I can apply what I've learned here in my ideas.

ОтветитьHey, got a question, how did you create the original car body? did you use a 3d printer for that or something?
ОтветитьWow! Excellent tutorial. This will save me a ton of money and more importantly, prevent trial and error disasters. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
ОтветитьI went to a school with a dude named strebel here in switzerland
ОтветитьI have a polurethane rubber emblem and want to make a mold of it will silicone rubber mold be okay, will that work or would it stick permanantly?
ОтветитьI love how accurate you describe the details and how you work 🫶
ОтветитьI use two degassing chambers to cut down on making sure the initial silicone pour doesn't set up too fast.
ОтветитьI love the video.
You did a great job.
Awesome
R u from UK . I could do with some molds for making chairs
ОтветитьCould a much larger mold be made to produce a car bumper?
ОтветитьOnly 1 minute of video, just left a sub there.
That's enough as a preview to know that this channel just has to be good!
I was wondering, say I have 2 molds. How can I pur cement into them ? Is there away to add a hole that I can use a funnel that can be opened and closed for the cement?
ОтветитьLeft chipotle bowl in trash and made a mold
ОтветитьThank you for sharing knowledge :) ... best regards
ОтветитьIs it required to degas the silicone?
ОтветитьWicked brilliant. Thank you
ОтветитьSO I looked this up and turns out just that bucket of silicone is like $500. Guess I'll pass on this for now. Gotta eat.
ОтветитьHi Eric
Great video to learn. I'm working on some project whare I need few identical parts. I can use this technique.
Can I pour plastics into the mould?
Amazing work! Have you ever added micro bubbles to your polyurethane to make your castings lighter? If so, does it make the castings any more/less brittle?
Ответитьwhere is the part you produced?
ОтветитьHi whats the mixing ratio of this silicone?
ОтветитьAwesome work! great, great explanation and production. Gonna give this a shot soon, thank you for linking all the material.
ОтветитьWhat cardboard do you use for the keys and where can I get some
ОтветитьHey Eric! I am a newcomer to molding but my ambition is to be able to make replica plastic front panels for old vintage pc restoring / beige replica case front panel replacements and this video really helps give me better context as to the scale of work required so thankyou!
A couple of questions if you have the time to answer me, A) The size of each panel I will be working with is around 17inches or so (length wise), if I have to use a CNC router to cut designs will it make weird lines in the final mold by having to stop and reposition the master as I am cutting and then re-cutting it? This is mostly since I am going to be limited to an 8in section at a time when cutting the design onto the material due to the working area of the CNC.
And B) What type of resin would you recommend for a similar texture to an old beige pc case panel?
And C) am I crazy for even thinking this would possible as a hobby project? haha
man i love your work ethic. respect
ОтветитьCan we cast Hot melting ABS or HDPE plastic in that mold?
ОтветитьWhat is the life span of this silicone after mixing? And what kind of hardness does it have? Great work.
ОтветитьHello
What ingredients should be added to the gelatin, it should be a tool with high elasticity and strong in winning shots.
This is such an awesome tutorial! Really nice work on this, it answers so many questions in so little time.
ОтветитьI'm trying to make a casting of a good size pumpkin any advice I don't have the fancy equipment lol
Ответитьhow much did this cost to make?
Ответитьi know exactly what that is , i see those in car shows and paint shops all the time. . nice job man. thx for sharing your knowledge. this type of skill is not shared enough , than you
Ответитьhow much did that silicone cost you?
ОтветитьI love crafting
ОтветитьWow, a big job!
You said "silicon only sticks to silicon", does it stick to paint?
I ask because I want to cast the headlight surrounds of my car and I'm not sure if I need a release agent?
Cheers!
yours is so much better than the rest i've seen in this platform, thanks. Galatoomi!
