Serg, I was having issues uploading videos to my streaming service because they were not formatted to the ultimate standards, I followed your COMPRESSOR recommendations and now FCPX exports PERFECT videos and they're way SMALLER than all of my previous, with HIGHER quality.

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong but when I set this up like you did in Compressor when I get the rendered video it leaves out the last 3-5 minutes of the video. If I use the Apple Devices 4K setting directly from FCPX it all renders fine...albiet a much larger file (2.4gb vs 145 with Compressor. Why would cause the Compressor app not to render the full video? Thanks

Thanks for this tutorial. For some reason when I put 4k HDR 60fps content recorded on my Samsung S21 Ultra into FCP, it looks so noisy and it pops up a message saying, "The video properties of this clip are not standard. The set project properties based on this clip, choose custom from the Format pop up menu. (That menu never pops up as far as I can see.) Then it says, To set properties based on another clip, click cancel and add the clip to the timeline." How can I import the clips so they look as good as they do when I upload directly from my phone? I have tested directly uploading from the phone and it look WAY better, light years better than going through FCP. What am I missing? Can you help with some suggestions? Thank you!

I have a Late-2013 MacBook Pro and It cant be updated anymore, so I cant update FCP or Compressor anymore and I'm not able to get my custom compressor preset to show up in FCP. Is this just because my macbook is too old? Even when creating my custom preset I'm limited to 30,000kbps data rate.

Thank you this was so helpful. My video was showing as 234gb for a 26min 4k60fps video. I was uploading my spiderman review and this was just ridiculous the video size. Using your method, the video is now 10gb which I think is more reasonable.

Tried the compressor last night. The resulting video was crap.

Is there a noticeable difference between h.264 Better Encode & h.264 Faster Encode?...Seems now, On Computer Format Setting, the Latest Version of FCP 10.6 appears to not have option for codec h.264 Better Quality. Is there a way to still select better quality? If not, how do we get the best YT export quality now? Should we now only use compressor instead for best quality? How to match h.264 better quality FCP Computer Format settings in Compressor? Thanks
