I recently bought both the Greenworks mower and snowblower and now own three 80 volt batteries. I may also buy the leaf blower and get a fourth battery. Should I rotate these batteries and use them evenly, or save two of them for later?
ОтветитьMr. Hardy... Your reviews are outstanding... You're a natural speaker and you're honest. Thanks, buddy!
ОтветитьOMG, WANT SOME CHEESE WITH THAT WHINE. 1 1\2 SEC. GET A LIFE.
ОтветитьMost excellent review , thanks for sharing
ОтветитьThe website and products ARE confusing. If a battery is 80v, it should work with all 80v products, but that's not the case from what I understand.
Ответитьi bought one form Costo and returned it right after i assembled it. overall construction is very flimsy, the cutting blade mounted on a plastic spool is supper thin. whole thing to me is like a toy.
ОтветитьI wondered about that with the rear self propelled. Thanks for the info.
ОтветитьI’m glad I’m not the only one who feels like the buying process is confusing. Right now I’ve been trying to figure out if it’s OK to use 80v batteries with different amps. I see some 80 V batteries with 2.5 Ah some with 4 Ah and one had a 5Ah I believe. Do you know?
ОтветитьHow to start my 80 V Green works lawn Moore
ОтветитьJust ran across your video based on my obsessive researching on most things I like or buy. I've had multiple GW 80v products for a few years now; backpack blower, string trimmer, hedge trimmer, 18" chainsaw. My toro push mower, I got 11 or 12 cutting seasons out of it, just had it's first major mechanic issue last week. So, since I'm well invested into the GW 80v world, I took the leap of faith and ordered the 21" gen 2 mower. Man, you couldn't be more correct on the hap-hazard layout of their website. I'm a super techy, geeky, kinda guy and I got confused on what model I was buying, they have 2 different Gen 2 models(push vs self propelled at the same price but with different battery combos) and I ended up with the gen 2 21" push mower instead of the gen 2 21" self propelled, none self pace, model. Thankfully they have a reasonable return policy and it only cost me about $45 to ship the first one I ordered back, but it definitely tripped me up. Totally my fault, but I definitely think they've got a lot of room for improvement on the UI/UX of their website.
I purchased their 60v self propelled mower last year for my parents to use around their garden. I fell in love with how easy it was to adjust and the folding feature, to help keep the deck clean, was one of those, it's some simple and so helpful, I couldn't wait to get one for myself. I almost pulled the trigger on their newer 80v 25" deck model, but thankfully saw another reviewer who mentioned that it doesn't offer side discharge. So, that was a bit of a deal breaker for me.
The advantage of buying at Costco is the double the battery warranty - to 8 years - that's huge!
ОтветитьMy son just got this mower and said the battery on first run didn't do very well. He had to do back and then a little of the front before recharging. He thought batteries worked independently (like his dad's Ryobi) but they seem to drain together. His Costco one had one battery charger but he didn't get the length of time you did. He barely has 1/2 acre.
ОтветитьIt seems very similiar to the snapper we have- but we did not get an eight year warranty- ours is quieter
ОтветитьWhat you said about Tesla’s are wrong. You hit the accelerator and it is an instant response
ОтветитьSingle point height adjuster seems nice at first. But over time, the linkages and pivots wear making it quite sloppy. The mower won't cut flat because the deck is bouncing around over uneven ground. Individual wheel adjustment is better by far for the long haul. Also, front wheel drive mowers are easier to maneuver as you indicated. However, they have trouble pulling themselves uphill if there's any amount of moisture on the grass. Toro has a great fix for this issue with their Personal Pace rear wheel drive system. It drives the speed you walk and disengages when you stop. It's very fluid in its stop/go/backup maneuvers. And there are no levers or handles to fumble with while doing so. It just works. Thanks for the good video.
Ответитьexcellent review very detailed and hits all the major points. thank you.
ОтветитьCan you adjust the angle and length of the handlebars on this mower?
ОтветитьGreat review! I was never thinking of going electric but my neighbor bought an Eco from Lowes last week and it was so quiet and his lawn looks good. So it got me thinking especially as my LawnBoy is struggling after 17 years! I think I'm going to go with the Costco deal. I see Costco includes 2 batteries a 4 ah and 2ah. Does anyone know the exact run time of the 2 Costco batteries combined?
My lawn usually takes 45-60 mins with a gas push mower depending on my energy levels. So decent sized subdivision home. Thanks!
Good review. The one thing that annoys me is the headlight. I can't figure out how to turn it off, I'm not sure you can. Seems like a waste of battery-albeit small as it is an LED. Unless I am missing something. Also, one of my battery indicator lights on the mower control panel didn't work right out of the box...minor nuisance, no biggie.
ОтветитьGreat review!
Do you have to use the self propel feature, or can you just push it along?
Thanks for the pros and cons. Just bought mine at Costco yesterday. Would prefer NO batteries since I already have their 80V tiller, but ok, now I have spares. And two chargers. I thought all these self-propelled walk behind mowers were rear wheel drive? I have a gas/carburetor type self-propelled rear wheel drv that I've never used because it's impossible to move without the motor running - at least I assume that's the problem. I've never started it and will return it to Costco. I'm not having that problem with this Greenworks version. Rolled right out of the box.
Self-propelled is one of those things you think will be great until you use it. It's more efficient for me to pull my mowers backward, and then go forward again, rather than turn around all the time, so that will take getting used to. I bought this one because, besides my itty bitty lawn I have 5 bumpy acres of grass and weeds. Except for the bit covered in pine trees, I've mowed almost the whole dang thing with a push mower, and it's serious exercise. This 80V self-propelled came with a 5 year warranty AND I could get it through Costco. I already know Greenworks' service options are pitiful in my area, so if anything goes wrong, it's going back to Costco.
I just ran this for the first time today and yeah the things you said you hated about it was true. However you can just let go of the accellerator a few seconds before you turn, the momentum should allow you to get to where you need to be, and by then the wheels will unlock and you're free to turn. That was the adjustment that I did within 15 minutes of using it and there's no problem as far as that's concerned
ОтветитьQuick rebuttal on the statement "...takes a second for it to go...", push the accelerator on a tesla and you are on warp speed. I don't know who told you this but I doubt they drive a tesla
ОтветитьWondering if when you put it in storage mode (lover the handle and put it up on its rear wheels. Can you then wheel it somewhere like a dolly?
ОтветитьWe purchased one from Costco, have used once, so the jury is still out a little bit. Seemed fine however, but I don’t see anything in the so called owners manual about the two types of blades. They are similar but not the same. Is one for mulching and the other for side discharge or what? Can you help? I have looked on their website and still didn’t see anything about owns manual, operating instructions. Perhaps you know. It’s not as if I won’t use it either why but I am curious. Thanks for any help!
ОтветитьHow much meters (M2) with 2 batterys 4 Ah Thanks.
ОтветитьBro please drive a Tesla before you assume it reacts like a lawnmower it absolutely does not.
ОтветитьI love the mower , but I’m having problems to make turns . I have to turn the self propelled off and turn back on for every turn . Can you help ? This can’t be good for the mower .
Ответить90 minutes battery life span? Well I'm glad I've watched this review, no way I'm buying new batteries every 90 minutes.
ОтветитьThe locking that happens even after releasing the propulsion throttle comes in handy for making turns in a dime, that’s what I use it for
ОтветитьWhat is the best length should I cut the grass, lower (2) level, or mid (5)?
ОтветитьI have a Tesla (2022) and there is ZERO delay. May be, or not be the case with others, idk.
ОтветитьThe key to disengaging the rear wheels is to manually push the mower forward a few inches after turning off the self propel drive. If you try to turn or back up immediately after turning off self propel without pushing the mower forward, the rear wheels will remain locked. Not sure if other mowers are like that, but it's just one of those things you get used to.
ОтветитьDemonstration > Talking
ОтветитьJust a comment on electric cars, I own two, including a Tesla, there is no delay. Unlike a gas car which will start then slow down then speed up. Watch any Tesla quarter mile video, there are a million of them
ОтветитьGreat review! I'm grabbing one from Costco on a BFD deal today.
ОтветитьBut won't the gas and oil leak out when you tip it backwards to store it? (just kid'n) ;)
ОтветитьHey guys, good review. I am a green works owner too. I have the 82v commercial stuff and it's very very good.
ОтветитьWhat are the dimensions when it's folded? I have s space issue and knowing how high it sits and how deep it is when stood up would be helpful. Those meansurements are nbot online that I can find.
ОтветитьHow is this vs the Ego
ОтветитьThank you for your hard work!
ОтветитьYea front wheel drive is the only way.
ОтветитьThese things are so lightweight that the self propelled version is not necessary imo We have the 80vMax Kobalt push version. Love it
ОтветитьNot only the website doesn't allow for products comparison but the signing in process of the website is impossible. I registered and I couldn't sign in after that. It just kept showing that I needed to sign in after signing in. I tried this in different web browsers with the same result. Really frustrating. .
Ответитьcan it be operated with only 1 battery?
ОтветитьGreenworks has the worst customer service I have ever experienced
ОтветитьGreat video. I just bought the Costco one. I don't think the charger will be an issue for me, though if I go all in on Greenworks products maybe I'll buy the fuel charger. With regards to Teslas, you heard wrong. They have immediate and powerful torque. They're the best cars money can buy. Thanks for the video!
ОтветитьGoing on 3 years with the 60v version of this mower. The 2 points that you mentioned here you will quickly get over and get use to the slight hesitation when first starting. When I engage the self propell I'm already beginning to push it so you don't notice it really. As for the locking up, if you release the self propell about a foot or so before turning that does not happen. I love the mower so much that I sold my Honda Hrx217. By the way, switch the mulch blade for the included high lift blade. You will get a much better cut. Also, being the blade is so thin I sharpen it every month with that Arnold wheel that attaches to a drill. I leave the blade on the mower while doing that as well.
