Weiß noch ganz genau als ich nach dem Gottesdienst an meiner Kommunion mit so einem nach Hause gefahren bin. Mein Vater hatte den von der Firma aus fahren dürfen, da er zu dem Zeitpunkt kein privates Auto hatte. Auch unzählige Umzüge haben wir mit dem Auto hinter uns gebracht. War immer ein wahnsinniges Erlebnis.

Das ist wahnsinnig wie oft man dieses Fahrzeug noch sieht obwohl es zwischen 1977 und 1995 gebaut wurde und der T1 ist vom Design her unverkennbar und ein Transporter mit Kultstatus

awesome engines, rusty vans. loved my old merc motor home though, massive euro trips multiple times and never broke down and whilst still getting 30mpg

These were vehicles built to last. Today’s vehicles fall apart in warranty. I’ll say no more.

Aerodynamically a brick (obviously), but will turn on a dime and engine will last forever. It WILL take you there, albeit VERY slowly (no turbo from factory). Warm too in the winter. And, all vans from that era had 0-100 measured in minutes, not seconds.

We got 310D. Pretty much rotted away, but engine will last forever.

Den hatte ich als 208 D. Was für ein schlechtes Auto, aber wir hatten soviel Spaß damit. War auch nicht so schlimm, dass das Auto so schlecht war, weil die Werkstatt bei Mercedes damals einfach eine Klasse für sich war. "Ist es eilig, oder reicht es, wenn er heut Abend fertig ist?" Da kann man bei Volvo nur von träumen. ^^

Ich mag alle Autos von mercedes überhaupt nicht vorallem die neuen aber die Transporter T1, Vario und der Sprinter der ersten Generation liebe ich einfach nur und für mich ist der wahre t1 von mercedes obwohl ich VW transporter mag

Als T1 kenn ich normalerweise den vw.

I drove this with the diesel as a company car in college in the 90's. Had 700,000 kilometers on it and still had the same drivetrain and even clutch on it. It also wasn't slow on the top speed. It is superbly built. Three years later I asked a friend that still worked there about it and he said that it still hasn't needed anything other than regular maintenance, now at 850,000km.
