This is such a weird song. The lyrics are not joyous, but the song is kind of upbeat. Very strange mix. Personally I like the Gary Jules version much better, but that’s also because I heard it first in Donnie Darko. Not that this is bad, it’s just a very odd mix of lyrics and music.

Well, have to say I like the Gary Jules version better.

Is this representing choice….running in circles to work, bed, sleep wasting life on things that don’t matter in the end. Misery of tv and materialism to fill us up, sports etc rather than dancing thru life and being happy inside just living in the nature we live amongst and respecting and loving each other. Rather than the jump on the man made division set up through all forms of media, all around us.

One of the best songs ever written.

This, the original, is 100x times better than the Gary Jules version. It’s less obvious and cheesy. I love upbeat songs with sad lyrics.

In my opinion and maybe because I heard Gary Jules version first and at the time it hit differently from this version in my life. I would take Gary's. But if it wasn't for Donnie Darko I would never of really got into tears for fears.
