I came on here to say thank you very much for your tips. I binge watched your videos and wrote out all of my answers to each question, studied them thoroughly, and was more than prepared for my interview. I have been out of the job force for many years due to having kids and now in my 40s I felt I had very little chance of getting a good job. My confidence was low. It’s especially brutal in my field (as a lawyer) due to the competition. I am here to say that I got the job today! Interesting questions, however, do not fear a shadow on a wall.
You may be young/old, full of hope/battered by life, introvert/extrovert, man/woman ... it does not matter. Simply apply some Tai Chi and ask the same questions back:
a) What is the greatest strength of your business?
b) What is the greatest weakness of your business, what might knock you down?
c) Give me few examples on how you addressed your business constraints? If they claim to be a market leader, yet if they have internal constraints - they are not.
d) Where do you see your business in 3-5 years?
e) Do you grow talent and if yes, how? How do you grow business acumen of your people?
f) How strong (cooperative) is your leadership team?
g) What is your business philosophy?
h) What do you customers/employees/other stakeholders complain most about?
i) Who are your 20% customers that create 80% revenue? What do they value most?
j) How do you create/manage Flow (the essence of being in business)? IOW, is your business structured vertically or horizontally (processes)?
k) Last time you discussed an issue, what was the overall energy? (Did it go up - the business emerged stronger - or down - there was some conflict/anger?)
l) What changes have you made in your business to become more proactive?
m) Where do you see the greatest complexity in your business is?
By all means, enjoy your interview time.
Important: Do not set a ceiling ever on how much money you should be earning. View money as a commodity.
The time has come for a new paradigm shift.
