Google Pixel 8 Pro Review For Photographers: Are These Even PHOTOS?!

My quandary is Pixel 8 Pro or Galaxy S24 Ultra for photography. I got the Pixel 8 pro and returned it because i didn't think it's display was a vibrant as that of my S21 Ultra.

This is my last Pixel phone (6 Pro) I'm not going to give money to company that doesn't allow me to use the full potential of it's cameras. Can't shoot full resolution if I want to, no pro settings, no way to turn off oversharpening and over processing (which is especially visible when you take photos of old stone buildings). No way Google.

How do you connect the Wireless Lavalier Microphone? I just purchased it and it won't connect at all :(

Got mine a week ago. This is my 1st pixel phone and god damn I wish I switched to pixel earlier. iPhones are great but the battery life is shit.

I'm love taking photos absolutely love taking photos and thank you both for making my decision in 2024 to get the p8p. I was just going to get the p8 but I always regret after purchasing the lesser phone for less money that I miss so much

honestly i used a vivo x90 pro plus before the 8 pro now i am so disappointed in its performance vivo does much nicer and not slow/buggy thanks to snapdragon chip /image chip v2 wil switch back to vivo

Yes they are photos. If you edit a photo its not a real photo either lol. Its just a dumb thing photographers say because they are losing relevancy

And "Photographic" competitions are often comproised of heavily edited and manipulated images using multiple shots and create an image of something that never looked the way it does in the final photo does.

You can apply a portrait effect in Google photos to any photo and change the depth effect

I hope they have fixed the battery. I have the google 7 pro. The battery got hot from day 1. It now barely lasts a day with virtually no use. Good luck getting hold of anyone from the google store in the UK. the phones are not manned. Never again!

Whole review that didn't mention that the White balance is still really poor, there are no quick select presets, and the pro tool adjuster is so limited as to be largely useless. I don't need 9/10 of the fancy drivel they add, I need white balance that is accurate or at least properly adjustable. How can it be that every year we get better cameras and they never fix the thing that has most needed fixed on all phones since they began?
