ARK 2 Delayed? NEW Voted Creature! Mean NEW Map? - ARK Community News

The fact is Wild Card does not even understand their "franchise".

Yes, I said franchise..

Meaning..

They have no idea how important those servers actually are to the community..

Ark Survival Evolved is literally "life" to some players and even big business to some of the community

Some consumers literally have createed a living, a side hustle and in some casees even quitting their regular jobs just to maintain their mini empire on this game, selling dinos, care packages, raid...

Day in and day out building, growing, grinding, preparing, protecting their investment on these servers..

I speak from experince with over 8k hours on Ark with my own former unofficial cluster, so I know exactly what I'm talking about..

Unofficial made pennies compared to official servers..

Some of these players are that dedicated to Ark

And just like that, Wild Card pulls big brother, and says

"We don't give a rip what you purchased"

We're pulling the plug simply because we are the creators of the game.

Creators that "SOLD their product" to the CONSUMER!

I would not be surprized if they didn't get some form of legal action over this from the community that is literally around the world..

They really do not realize what kind of can they have opened up.

Some players have literally paid hundreds and even thousands of dollars for their little empire on Ark through personal websites and social media

So Wild Card...

It's not just the DLC's, it's not just the game, it's their livelihood and years of building and growing what they have in Ark invested in Ark.

As strange as this sounds..

Wild Card needs to wake up and realize that Ark is "life" to some of their consumers..

They need to take a step back and really see the consequences of taking down their official servers.

And someone needs to address this issue through content and explain way better than what I ever could on this little thread what Im talking about. Someone needs to tell the real story and give these developers a clue about their products..

Wait. How do you know that they don't have enough devs to do both? Maybe they have a dedicated team for both. But what do I know, I've only been playing since 2020. :)

Honestly, Fjordur is an excellent map to close the chapter of Ark 1 in my opinion

Hey Raas, if Vin Diesel has anything left to do for Ark 2, then it might be delayed because of his other movies. The number 1 movie is Fast X (Fast 10). He will do that before anything else. Fast X is supposed to be out this year as well.

I’ll be more than ok of ark 2 is pushed back till late next year, just want them to take their time on it and make sure it’s ready when they release it. So many games fall flat on their face because of timelines

I really hope the snail get into the top ten I think it deserves a spot on the list because it one of the more unique creature on the list

I just hope that if there is a UE5 upgrade it's a separate download that has the same connection targets so that people with lower end hardware (Xbox One S/Launch Version, PS4, low to mid end PCs, Switch, etc.) can play with people that have better hardware and not having to stop playing the game because they can't afford to get something capable of running it

So my curiosity is with the new creature vote could it mean just a new creature on some/all maps, a new map with the creature (maybe the runner up as well), or possibly with the UE5 conversion (not sure how long WC has been actively working on it though). I'd wager that depending on how they roll the new creature(s) out will hint at how much longer we have to wait on Ark 2. For example if we get the creature on existing maps we could still possibly see Ark 2 in the later half of 2023, if we get a new map we could see a late 2023/early 2024 release, etc.

So does that mean griffins were real?

Please no new maps… population is declining and being split between maps. Pvp is hard to find.

Honestly I'm putting stock into a Gorgonopsid or new Platform tame, preferably not another herbivore but a very large carnivore, we don't need a giant buffalo, remember arks are supposed to be more carnivores than herbivores.

Just to spread some optimism for Ark 2, I have decades of experience releasing software and I could see Ark 2 being in a heavy QA cycle right now, if they are headed for release in June of this year. When you have a team of dozens or even hundreds of developers, what are the artists, sound people, and other developers not working on squashing bugs doing for the next 5 months? Creating a new map and adding UE5 support to Ark 1, that's what :)

Good. I hope they delay it another 2 years. Take their time and polish. If they convert ark 1 to a new engine and fix map meshing. Add some anti hack Program. Ark 1 would explode with popularity again

I really don't care if ark 2 gets delayed to 2024, having ark 1 in unreal engine 5 and more creatures and map will make the game stay healthy and alive for all this year, at least for me and we still have the series. So let them cook so we can get the best of Ark 2

Do you know what really sucks how we’re getting it version for ark in unreal engine five you know that really doesn’t suck my bad but I’m scared because the Xbox lineup so far that supports art can barely run the game. Well the Xbox one can only run the game about 20 FPS does the Xbox series X can run the game fairly well on last generation graphics, but with the new generation graphics is back to the same or 20 FPS, and in my opinion, I think moving arc to unreal engine 5.1 will either make it worse or better because I believe that unreal engine 5.1 is more optimize but I think with the addition of nanite and lumen plus they have the intense graphical qualities of ark survival evolved it might not run with very well, but I hope you can run at 60 FPS or more on the new GEN consoles
