Aftertreatment system - introduced to reduce harmful exhaust emissions from internal combustion engines. In other words, this is an engine device that cleans exhaust gases based on ecological standards.

Since 2010, a new method has been created to prevent nitrogen oxide pollution, which is harmful to the ecology and people. That's why DEF and SCR were added to this system.

How to check after-treatment system?

Every 15,000 miles, the following components should be checked:
Clamps in/out around egr, EGR cooler, EGR lines,
Next, 7th injector:
DOC/DPF
-clamps, leaks
DEF
-Def Doser
-Def filter, especially after the winter period
-def pipes
SCR
-clamps/gaskets / sensors

Problems with the after-treatment system can cause high engine pressure, reduced efficiency and excessive regeneration. If the problem is not fixed quickly, in result it can cost you a lot of money and time.
