Speaking of their forums, I went through the sign up process and click the submit button and my browser just kept giving me the spinning wheel thing it never completed the sign up.

I bought a refurbished wrt 3200 ACM and found out it had this DD-WRT firmware on it. What a cluster fuck. Anytime you make a change and click the apply button or the save button the screen refreshes to a black screen and you can't access the router for at least three more minutes. It took me all night of screwing around with this thing and I finally said screw it and put the factory firmware on it now it's not booting up at all.

Update. Apparently the database is no longer being supported or updated. If you go to the Forum or the Wiki you will find that they NO LONGER recommend using the database. I have no idea why.

I use ddwrt and changed my ssid name in setup. Sometimes my windows pc can't decide which ssid to use...the new one or the old one. ?? Any help on this? --thanks do you need to reset the router to factory defaulys before changing the ssid?

I'm looking for something (perhaps DD-WRT?) that could implement multiple virtual hidden wireless networks so that untrusted wireless devices connect to a unique SSID + password pair unique to that device's MAC address. I want to prevent an untrusted device from using MAC address spoofing to masquerade as another device and use the same SSID + password as a way to bypass MAC based routing and filtering. Can DD-WRT or something else do that?

This is a great recent video. I just wish that dd-wrt also supported wifi 6 (802.11ax) but seems like it doesn't at the moment.

just installed this on a old TP-link Archer c8 v3. I love it because its makes the router into a super router for more features

Curious for you to do a review on OpenWRT. I switched from DD-WRT to OpenWRT after getting frustrated with how long it took them to fix basic bugs. They were often very far behind on fixes from upstream packages. Their Samba version was several years behind what everyone else was using, which was the final reason I switched away.

Hello, will this work on generic wifi repeaters? Those mini ones used to just boost signals. Any ideas?

Cisco bought Linksys in 2003, a couple of years after they had released their WiFi routers

TIL, people still use DD-WRT? Wow. I mean it was great back in the day for sure but after OpenWRT you kinda don't want to go back.

Linksys is no longer owned by Cisco. Cisco sold it in 2013 to Belkin. Belkin and subsidiary Linksys were sold to Foxconn in 2018.

You knock out good vids. Yeah DD-wrt is good for getting started in networking and using some older routers. It's where I started and now I'm on pfSense.
