I trust your reviews. I have had a 9/10 great experience on SAA. The 1/10 was probably a huge drawback to the point where I vowed never to do long distance on SAA ever again. A male crew attendance sexually assaulted me. Madness. So I wont be doing those anymore.

Johannesburg airport is just horrible. The service you received there is not the airlines fault, its just a part of the culture in joburg. Cape Town is like going to another country. Completely different attitude.

I worked in yachting and South Africa is heavily represented in that sector. A lot of European and Australian people refard South Africans as lazy and/or dumb, plus constant scammers. I found most of them to be very pleasant and granted you do get some that follow those stereotypes, thats the same in every culture though. What I found for the air travel though is that if you work for the airlines, those people usually suffer from power trips and are the first ones that will tell you what they do as some sort of social ranking whch I noticed happens a lot in some service industries. Yachties definitely would be the kings of social rankings considering that they work with millionaires and billionaires, however the air crews always act as of they are the most important. Hotel clerks are considered the worst, and private security, which is another area South Africans dominate, are considered the top of the service industry hierarchy...according to those juvenile enough to participate in it. Most people I met didn't care.

My last trip to dubai was unplesant the last check in counter i handed in my 2 pase ports and the attendent threw them down on the flour ap 10 m away well i lost it i scremed fuck you very loud the saen attendent aproched me and took me buy the arm and led me to my seat and apolgised for the bad behavea. Then vrought my 2 paselorts back to me . This problem was a female banto.

South Africa dicier than most . . Stay out of the country. Dangerous airline too . Avionics are no calibrated nor working properly in many aircraft. Pilots are equity hires ! Dangerous.

I was in Cape Town , flew back (3rd Sep) to Johannesburg with FlySafair. No free food or snacks in flight but the flight is okay. I actually never been in SAA even though I fly CPT-Joburg frequently. Before Covid-19 BA was the best in that route. I am from Botswana and our Airline is non existent lmaoooooo.

The SAA government has been funding SAA until recently, The sale of SAA is a joke. There were red flags reported that overseas assets had not been included in the overall sales price. If this is correct, billions of rands have been stolen from the SA taxpayer. It was referred to the government legal channels, but as far as i know, nothing was done about it swept under the carpet like all the other corruption. So, as far as i am concerned, there is nothing to celabrate about the new SAA. The only people that should be celebrating are the company officials that purchased the 51 % share and the government officials in volved in the deal .They purchased a bargain of a lifetime under pravin Gordons watch. Once again. everything he touches , Eskom, Transnet, and SAA are in the gutter bleeding money from the SA government. What a disgrace, nothing to be proud of.

I flew Accra to Johannesburg on SAA and it was all very good. On time, friendly staff and quiet. Good food, clean, really excellent.

Flew SAA from JNB to WDH: plane was bit dated, but food was good :) What sucks are the frequent flyer miles taking ages to be credited to my Miles & More...
