Great movie. Grew up trapping at a young age. Loved it. Built myself a log home in the middle of the bush and just can’t beat it.

ОтветитьThis is my dream, I would like to live somewhere in Alaska, far away from civilization, with a husky, a few horses, a house that I would build of myself. Oh man, I hope the dream will come true, to live in peace in retirement pension time until the last day of my life there.
ОтветитьI bet Dick Proenneke would have loved to have his back rubbed.. Nice movie.
ОтветитьI drop this comment because the comments is exactly 666 and it creeps me out.

Ответить*SPOILER* Really. He hasn't already trained a backup hunting dog? Any accident, even one in nature, could have killed his dog. You never go "out" without a dog. Even a bad one is a good "early warning system" and could mean the difference between life and death.
Ugh. He's buying glass windows for the cabin. Did he think someone grew them? Didn't he realize they were made in a FACTORY too? I was just a kid, but I knew these things. Sorry. I can't handle the inconsistencies and hypocritical nature between the ideology and actions anymore. I think "this land" can find a better "guardian" than Norm. DNF. LL 🤦♀️
It was so great to stumble onto this film and I appreciate the upload.
I grew up in the Rocky Mountain foothills but have been stuck in cities (Vancouver and Edmonton) all of my adult life. More than 30 years longing to get "out" and back to be "part of the land" again too. But that takes immense hard work, know-how, and SACRIFICE. No microwaves, stores, hospitals, cell phones, internet, and cars. Or anything run on gas. I couldn't live without those things anymore. Could you? We can definitely live more responsibly towards the environment, but to go back ...? Even most people who live off the grid still want electricity (using solar power and generators) and indoor plumbing (porcelain, septic systems, and pumps). I don't think there is any going back. Even as I was watching this movie, I was considering how many things Norm and Nebraska used that were mass-produced in FACTORIES. Like their clothing, their tent, the chains used to tie up his dogs, the bowls he feeds them from, and the leveling instrument that he used to build his log cabin. It's an all or nothing lifestyle. If you truly want to be one with nature, then you can't contribute as a consumer to the lifestyle you oppose. Actions have consequences. Welcome to REAL life. Not the movie version. 🎥 😞 LLR
PS. Maybe if he didn't gamble he'd have enough money to "make ends meet". Norm isn't even set up to keep his horses through the winter. No wonder he's the LAST trapper. He sucks at it. 🤨😉🤦♀️ LL
I love the nature 😍
Ответитьwhere is his horse, before he take a plane back home.
