This is such an awesome video, so many truth bombs and so rewarding. For my part learning I learned most of my skills on the job (Ironically from Robyn). One major thing I've learned is this is a constantly evolving industry, so even after leaving college you never stop learning and are always challenged. Really great that you are doing these videos. As it is a resource that is sorely needed especially in this industry.
ОтветитьDo I already need to know how to draw before I become an animator?
ОтветитьThank you
Ответитьyou really scare me! thx for the video!
ОтветитьI apologize if this sounds weird and/or creepy; but you are pleasing to listen to and watch/look at. As well informative.
ОтветитьWhich books I need to become a pro animator one book you tell it in this video if there are also some other books which are very important for animator then tell me
ОтветитьHi I am confused about joining an animation college or joining an online course please help me !!!! Me age 24

An accredited university I can learn with online.
I want a diploma in 3d/VFX and game development
Wow, i m so scared, i don t know what to do. In Romanian aren t jobs for animators, not even courses, I don t know where to start or how, I mean how I will get even my first job ?? Some help pls?
ОтветитьJust finished my first year of college for architecture, but I’m having doubts abt continuing this path due to lack of passion. I feel like I might do better happiness wise if I get into the more creative storytelling and character design type of careers, but I’m not completely sure if animation would give me that kind of freedom. Are u still full of creativity and ideas for whatever made u first want to do this career, or are u more restricted and feel like this career may not let u exercise that creativity to the fullest?
ОтветитьI'm only in middle school but I'm going to get into animation rn.
ОтветитьThank you for this valuable content
ОтветитьWatching from India Thanks For Subtitle ❤️
ОтветитьFor The Job Do We must Need That Certificates For Studying Animation Related College Or with Skill We Can Join

Hello! Im 14 and i draw a lot. Im interested in going into animation but im not sure how good my skills need to be to get a job. Do i need to know 3d in order to have a stable career? I'm better at 2d 😅..I also dont know any other job i should do alongside because i've always just had animation in my head. Can storyboarding count?
ОтветитьVery Informative ❤
ОтветитьPlease i need a mentor to guide me
ОтветитьThis was fantastic, thank you for sharing. Considering making the leap into animation and films. Already have a Bachelor's in music, and already make my own music and get it featured around the media, but it doesn't pay unfortunately. HAHAHAHAHA. Need to put food on the table. And I've always loved movies and videos.
Ответитьloved the way you pop up in begin !
Ответитьdo et
ОтветитьAnimators don't earn anything. I don't kill myself for nothing. What a mean industry 👎👎👎
ОтветитьWoooo ho time to f myself
Ответить1st time watching your video and you made me sub in 1sst 30sec. , amazing content
ОтветитьThanks
ОтветитьI really like your videos your helping to us for get familiar with industry and no one does not share them knowledge with us
ОтветитьI’m a freshman in highschool!(this is the JKTHECLOWN part of this channel in control)
I always wanted to learn animation! So I decided to do some basic ball bouncing animation! I did 3 different ones as well as my friend Sansapuns who also has control on this channel!
I you could(not saying you have to) check out my/my friends stuff? And give us feedback?
Thank you when i grow up i will be an animator😎 i gave you a like💖
ОтветитьHi Robyn. How are you? Hope you're doing good. Could you suggest me some animation classes using blender because I already know how to use it. The one from Animation Mentor uses maya so id be paying for the first part just to learn the software
ОтветитьI'm a senior in highschool and it's been my dream to become an animator for 2D animation! But the thing is, I'm really stressed out about going to an art school because some people tell that I need a degree to become an animator, and some people tell me i don't need it soo IDK!
ОтветитьThank you so so so much ❤️
ОтветитьAnimation for me is more of something that I would do even if I'm not gonna be payed for it. I just find it so satisfying when I see 2d animators making incredible fluid motions in their work and I just get jealous cause I can't do that.
ОтветитьThank you for this video, it honestly has helped me so much in figuring things out further. Going for a bachelors is hella scary and very expensive. Due to my A level college messing up 2 years of my education i don't have really good grades to join uni, plus international (barely any universities in my country offer animation) is extremely expensive and I feel a diploma would be much better, i can also do multiple courses to further myself. And you are so right, the creative industry is unpredictable and risky, and has really given me a chance to think about alternatives and backups. Will definitely be saving this video for the future and will try to get my hands on that book lol. Thank you once again for making this
ОтветитьYour video made me put myself some questions about what I want to do, and now I see how unsure I am about my "goals". Basically I'm in high-school and I want to become an animator to be able to do my own anime or tv show? I m not SURE NOW LOL. But thanks to you I have time to research now a lot and focus more about what I want to do even if I struggle a lot with motivation---
ОтветитьShe is talking like a robot😆
ОтветитьIs it possible to learn all these skills?
ОтветитьVery informative video! I would love to study animation in south Africa but I heard it's not very safe country is that right 🥲?
ОтветитьIt's hard to know what to learn/study when the different specializations are all related and have the same foundation. What should you focus on if you wanna lean more towards tv/film rather than complete cartoon animation? For example, animation/production for sports content like ESPN or movies in general?
ОтветитьThank you so much this video helped me a lot <3
ОтветитьHey sorry random off topic question but may I ask your nationality
It’s just that your accent sounds similar to where I’m from :D
Do you need to study for a qualification to be an animator?
The short answer is a definite NO!
When I'm hiring animators I look for 2 things
1. How long they have been animating
2. Their Animation showreel
In my first job I approached one of the biggest studios in the industry and was asked "What are you carrying there?"
I replied, "In this hand is my Degree" proudly with a smiley face followed by the head of the studio saying, "Well lets start by putting that in the F** bin... What can you do?" :D It was cheeky, funny and a great reality check that no in this field, a piece of paper saying you're good doesn't count for much at all. It wasn't a waste because I learnt the principles of animation (Although that can be done from a book), but experience and practice is what it takes.
So the question that mattered was, "What's in your other hand?"
Oh this CD ? This is my work?
Put it in the disk player, it played on the screen, and there was a quick, "When can you start, that's good shit" :D
Great video. Very calm, informative and sensibly pragmatic.
ОтветитьI started attending a community college for a fine arts associate, but mainly because my mom says I need to. I actually think an online animation course specifically FOR animation may be a little more my style, because there aren't necessarily "animation" classes at this college. Just cartooning, drawing, inking, and other art medium courses like that. I have a part-time job at a retail store and it's OK, but it's kind of killing me because I already struggle with fairly bad anxiety and dysphoria. I really want to start maybe freelancing animation or drawing commissions instead of a retail job, but I don't really know how to get a foothold on the internet when it comes to "popularity" or gaining a following so I can get fairly consistent commissions. I know this video's a couple years old, but do you have any tips on how to gain some ground and get your work out there?
ОтветитьPlease what online course can I go for,or do you have any course site to recommend for me
ОтветитьThanks for the video. I do have acouple of questions.
1. I don’t have a lot of time or money to do animation school full time, what do you recommend?
2. Is it possible to do 2D and 3D character animation? I would like to do both. Thanks.
3. Should I know how to draw before I begin animation?
