i would love to know how many still transfer data from their iphones with cables... like i know it's kinda bad that its just usb 2.0 on the regular 15, but i think it was 2013 when i last used a cable to transfer files from my phone. just like i only use thumb drives for OS installs anymore, i can't remember when i last transferred something like a powerpoint file via usb

Still no folding phone from Apple. Seems that they are always late to the party. USB Type C is no feature, it's standard. And they were "forced" to change their connection interface.
Everybody waited for the "Apple Fold" to be announced. They just dissapointed everybody.

For last 2 years, I use a phone with USB C tunning at 2.0 speed. I rarely use the cable to connectect it (usualy Android auto), and I do file back up to home file server over the WiFi, as the WiFi5 I have at home is as fast as USB2.0 in real life.

im sure this has been mentioned, but thought usb c only existed to copy non directionality of lightning port.
that said, im happy to move to single port to rule them all.

I repaired phones in my little company.
The Problem with USB C is the little part in the mittle that breaks more often as you think.
It is easy to replace caple than the port.
As well I never had 1 lightning cable that broke on me.

I'm a long time Pixel user but this new generation of iPhones is seriously compelling! I wouldn't have to buy really any new accessories or anything, Ironically my biggest holdout is not being able to use RCS Chat with my family anymore lol

I still have an iPhone X and Galaxy S9+ and I won't be planning on upgrading until the tenth anniversary of having each phone. So November 2017 for iPhone 19 Pro Max and a S28 Ultra in March 2028

It's funny how coverage from the Apple media sphere is that these are some decent minor upgrades but not much to write home about. Meanwhile in the more PC/Android media sphere, all of this stuff is being praised and some people are talking about switching who have been diehard Android users for years. Do you guys really care that much about what charging cable you use? I mean, this is nice, but I've been using Qi and MagSafe for a long time. I can't even remember the last time I plugged my phone in. And I use AirDrop to send files to my Mac which is pretty fast on WiFi 6. A lot of these features are good quality of life improvements but they are most used by professionals.

At this rate it's going to be really weird to see how things end up in a few years. Especially when Apple's new GPT-like Siri comes out next year. One thing Apple really needs to work on is not requiring parts ordered to be paired to a specific device. It's just not necessary. They also need to do a better job of making parts available, such as parts for the iPad Pro like the Mini LED display. They also need to improve the action button so double click and triple click actions allow you to do more shortcuts. Right now it's pretty handicapped unless you know how to setup a series of advanced context-sensitive Shortcuts. And even that doesn't make it as good as having actual double and triple click so you can activate certain things at certain times of day at certain locations. I'm already building out my macros in the Shortcuts app based on my Focus Modes.
